As a medical physician currently in the process of changing medical specialties, I understand how rigorous and demanding education can sometimes be. I have excelled at all levels of education and am excited to help others to do the same. In addition to my own academic training, I have had formal teaching and tutoring experiences through working with at-risk youth as a tutor and Math and Science teacher at a residential treatment center, working as a Bioethics teaching assistant at the college level, and even working with patients to help them understand important but sometimes initially complicated topics.
I have thrived and truly enjoy the experience of helping someone master what may initially seem to be an intimidating subject. As important as it is to learn material, I feel it is equally or perhaps more important to learn how to approach the material. This is somewhere that I feel I have a lot to offer you - not just helping you to learn, but to learn how to learn. In doing so, my goal will be to assist you by catering to your personal learning style and typical approach, which may not be the same as mine or another student. Students that I have worked with have often not only increased their understanding of a subject or learned to solve a difficult problem, but have often found renewed confidence and enthusiasm for learning. I hope we can have a similar experience through working together.
