I received my Bachelor of Science degree in Inclusive Elementary and Special Education, as well as History, from Syracuse University. After graduation, I began teaching full time as a Special Education Teacher at the high school level, co-teaching a variety of subjects, while also attending classes on a full time basis to complete my Master of Science degree in Inclusive Special Education: Multiple/Severe Disabilities at Syracuse University. After completing my Masters degree, I switched gears and moved to teaching at the elementary level, working as a full time co-teacher in 2nd, 4th, and 6th grades. After obtaining tenure and teaching for a number of years, I left the k-12 classroom to begin work on a doctoral degree in Special Education and Disability Studies at Syracuse University, which I am currently completing coursework towards. As a graduate student in this program, I have taught a number of undergraduate and graduate courses situated within the School of Education. Having taught across a variety of grade levels, both k-12 and collegiate, I tutor in a variety of areas. In particular, I have strong writing skills myself and am able to provide students with a great deal of support in written expression. As a tutor who was a former Special Education Teacher, my forte is in differentiating instruction to meet the needs of each learner and bring a variety of engaging teaching strategies to each tutoring session. In my spare time, I love to surround myself with nature, spending time in the woods with my two giant dogs.
