Certified Tutor
As a recent college graduate from Syracuse University, I have demonstrated academic excellence through involvement in several extracurricular activities and academic honor of my Bachelor's degree in Chemistry. One of my favorite activities that I participated in throughout my college career was tutoring. In addition to my four years tutoring mathematics in high school, I have worked as a tutor for young middle school and elementary school students in mathematics and English. I enjoy tutoring mathematics the most because I simply love math. I have had tutoring experiences dealing with different types of students such as ones who need more attention and instruction and ones who were not as dependent. Regardless of the type of student I encounter, I always make sure that the student is comfortable enough to ask me as many questions as they like. My teaching philosophy is that tutoring is a two way street. If the communication is not effective between the tutor and student, then tutoring will not take place. I like to think of my tutoring style as more visual. As an aspiring physician, I hope to use my gap years before medical school to enhance my professionalism and bring back to communities by providing academic tutoring services.

What is your teaching philosophy?
Tutoring is a two-way street. The tutor cannot help if communication is not delivered.
What might you do in a typical first session with a student?
I typically like to get to know the student first by breaking the ice. For example, I ask about their day, what subjects they like and do not like.
