I graduated from Brooklyn College with B.S. degree in Biology. During the last year of my undergraduate’s degree I was involved in the Laboratory of Experimental and Applied Phycology. The goal of this laboratory was the advancement of biofuel research, through the cultivation of Chlorophyceae organisms. These are unicellular micro algae organisms that under certain conditions create lipid bodies, which can be harvested as biodiesel. Next, I obtained a job as a quality assurance technician for a BluePrint Cleanse juicing production. As a QA technician I was required to implement my laboratory and biological experience. Now I am in the process of making my applications for Masters and Ph.D. programs in bioinformatics.
My biggest strength is my work and research experience, which will help me make a connection between seemingly arbitrary biological facts to real life and the greater picture. This is what I used to help my friends and family when I tutor them in biology and chemistry. I am humble, patient, caring, and encouraging with anyone that has ever come to me for academic tutoring. Aside from coaching and teaching I am able to offer advice on not only a single science class, but also offer guidance in pursuing science based careers such as researchers, doctorates, technicians, and medicine. Incidentally, I encourage anyone that comes to me to openly discuss why they are taking the course and what the ultimate goal is. Because keeping in mind why someone is taking a course will help motivate the student to be the best that they can be.
