Certified Tutor

I graduated from Columbia University with my BA in Neuroscience and Behavior as well as having completed the premedical track. Gaining this rigorous science background allowed me to pursue my love of science and medicine, and it also gave me a thorough understanding of what it takes to study and learn efficiently. Effective study strategies, dedication, patience, and some sheer persistence are things I am very familiar with and share with those I tutor.

Learning is a process that doesn't stop in school. For me, one form that continued learning has been conducting an extensive amount of scientific research at prominent research institutions on topics ranging from the causes of obesity to kneecap pain to why mosquitoes are attracted to some people and not others. Continuously asking questions is a major component of research, and I encourage the students I tutor to not just memorize content, but ask questions until they really understand what they are learning. When working through concepts, problems, and test-taking strategies, I make sure my students ask questions until they know why they are solving a problem a certain way or how a specific concept fits into the bigger picture. This strategy boosts student confidence and facilitates long-term academic success!
