Tutoring review by Michael in Hollywood, FL
The student has a quiz coming up and wanted a session to help prepare for this. The areas that were giving her the most issues were arc length problems and application of trig problems. We went through several arc length problems, and she quickly got comfortable with those. We worked a bit more extensively on the application problems since they are quite complex. We also reinforced the unit circle throughout the session since it will continue to be important. The student seemed much more comfortable with the material by the end of the session.

We went over shells and washers again. We also did a problem on chord length and approximations. It was a productive session.

Tutoring review by Justin in Hollywood, FL
The student and I discussed her homework and reviewed for an upcoming quiz. He continues to do well, having recently gotten an A on a quiz and having gotten very close to an A on the quiz before that. He and I then reviewed his geometry homework. They have started doing proofs in class. Many students are intimidated by proofs at first. My impression is that he is used to understanding math right away, and he doesn't feel he is doing as well as he normally does. I am encouraging him not to get discouraged. He and I will focus on filling in the gaps in his understanding over the coming weeks.

Tutoring review by Abigail in Hollywood, FL
I was pleased to learn at the beginning of our session that the student had been moving through the material at a faster pace than I had anticipated, and had already taken her Unit 1 exam. She said that she was confident about how the test had gone, and believed that she had performed well on it. I plan to go over the test with her once it is graded. I decided to use our lesson time to go over two new concepts that she would have quizzes on in the coming week: reflexive pronouns, interrogative pronouns, and uses of the ablative. She struggled a bit at first with both of these topics, but with a little practice seemed to understand them very well. I asked her to take the quiz on reflexive pronouns tomorrow, and the one on interrogative pronouns the following day.

The student and I worked on the present continuous and on count and noncount nouns. She is doing well with conjugating the verbs.
