The student has a French midterm on Friday. Today we completed his review packet for it. They will check the answers in class tomorrow and then he will need to review the areas in which he needs more practice. He will also need to review vocabulary. We also completed his History assignment.

The student did an excellent job on the math and reading portions of her most recent full-length practice test, but she is a little worried about the verbal section. She's stronger on analogies than on synonyms, so we decided it might help her to start the verbal section with analogies so that if she runs out of time she'll be skipping hard questions she might have had to guess on anyway. For our last session next time, I plan to focus on reviewing high-yield strategies and building confidence.

The student and I got right to work on the test- he had done all of the math sections timed. We worked through a few vocab questions, some reading passages, and then the writing, which he doesn't seem to have any problems with. Its looking like vocab and reading comprehension are going to be the biggest areas to try and improve on.

The student and I finished correcting her Practice Test 2 and then did Math practice. I think I am going to ask her to complete the first ACT Practice Test soon so that I can get an idea of what we need to cover when we start ACT.

The student has a solid grasp on the majority of the vocabulary we encountered today. We discussed global warming and themes of the test and strategies for approaching questions. We also discussed the scientific method and how to design an experiment that will have valid results. She is on her way to being successful on her test next week.

We reviewed the homework I assigned last time. She wasn't familiar with some of the topics so we did practice problems. She needs more practice with scientific notation and area/perimeter. I introduced the assessment test so she can start getting familiarized with the format.
