We covered Chemistry and Physics today, mostly reviewing problems that the student worked on over the past two weeks. In Chemistry, we covered gases, particularly partial pressures, mole fractions, and more. In Physics, we covered some work, kinetic energy, potential energy, fluids and solids (thermodynamics and phase changes), and more. This next week, she will work on reviewing previous materials with practice problems from other textbooks. That way, we can spend our next session covering new material.

We talked about score goals and schools Jordan is considering. We then discussed some basics before completing a science lesson. The conflicting viewpoints passage was the most difficult from the practice test, so we discussed and practiced some strategies. We also worked on approaches for the data representation and research summary passages.

The student, parent, and I met and discussed our focus for the student's sessions. He showed me some of his writing samples and teachers' comments, and we discussed the importance of providing examples and giving evidence in writing. We also went over fractions homework and the merits of "showing work".

The material was parametric calculus. We talked about what a parametric equation is, how to differentiate them, and how we can calculate arc length from a system of parametric equations.
