The student worked on reading and math homework. She reviewed her spelling words by writing dictated sentences using each spelling word in context. Next, she did an addition math page using the "counting on" method and touch math to solve the problems. Lastly, she wrote three sentences of what she learned from reading about rain.

We went over the material and made flashcards for the next chapter about mitosis/meiosis. The class might be moving a bit fast as they have had a test per week lately, but they are now slowing down. The student had trouble making flashcards on his own last week, so I helped him this week.

I taught the student a new thinking map to organize her thoughts. We worked on writing informative paragraphs where we compare and contrast two characters from a story. We went through the writing process, and she revised her paragraph.
