During this session, factoring was reviewed (basic factoring, factoring involving coefficients in front of x^2, and difference of squares), as well as solving polynomials (finding roots/ zeros) by completing homework problems from a class-given worksheet.

The student did great today. We continued with decimals and worked on converting between fractions and decimals. This was all new to him and was challenging at first, but he caught on quickly. I love how he expresses when something is difficult, but stays positive throughout. And then when it does click, he glows with pride and warms my heart.

We reanalyzed problems covered in class, as well as several review problems found in the professor's review packet. The concepts covered were the midpoint formula, slope-intercept/ graphing, etc.

Tonight, the student did practice tests in quantitative and verbal sections. The math section was still not up to the quality that she hopes for but she was able to see her mistakes and knows that many of the problems that she missed she could have gotten correct with a little more attention to details. We also were able to target some things to work on in our remaining sessions before the test. The verbal section was a huge celebration - she had done poorly on this part in October even though she felt that it should have been strong for her but tonight, she did well on the synonym section and completely aced the analogies!
