I am excited to be tutoring. In my experience teaching, I have learned that empowerment in a subject is a combination of efficient guidance from me and a willingness to improve from my students. By signing up for tutoring, students are already taking the first step to mastering whatever areas in which they may be having difficulty. I won't do all the work for my students but I will never leave them to figure out everything by themselves, as that defeats the purpose of a tutor. I will constantly assess understanding during the learning process, thus gradually giving my students the confidence that they have moved into deeper understanding of material. I am a graduate of Vanderbilt University class of 2016 majoring in Neuroscience. If you have any questions or inquiries about the college process, selecting a major, or Vanderbilt University, I am happy to answer your questions. Currently, I am looking to obtain a Masters degree and am applying to such programs. I tutor children on a weekly basis at my local church from ages of 8 to 14 on an assortment of subjects. I understand that there are different learning styles and I try to find the right approach for each different student.

I'm in the process of applying to Master's programs for marine biology. I've been a motivated and committed student for the past 15+ years and I'm excited to bring my knowledge, enthusiasm, and passion for learning and teaching to all of my tutoring sessions. Although I majored in Biology at Duke, I got a minor in Classical Studies - or ancient Greece and Rome - so I have a pretty diverse educational background. In addition to my studies in college, I was DUMB (a proud member of the Duke University Marching Band) and I conducted research on Hawaiian monk seals. In the future, I hope to participate in more field work with marine mammals and eventually become a professor, so I look forward to incorporating tutoring into my educational track!

I am a Gates Cambridge Scholar and recently completed my MPhil in Development Studies at the University of Cambridge. This fall, I will begin my legal education at Yale Law School. I believe that my achievement on the LSAT and in the law school application process, as well as my two years’ worth of part-time tutoring experience, have enabled me to help others successfully navigate the process of preparing for a legal education. I've found that STEM courses are intimidating to many students, and I hope to get rid of that fear and promote an appreciation for numbers and the sciences. I'm from a small town in southeast Michigan, where I went to high school before moving to Nashville for university. I just graduated from Vanderbilt University with a Bachelor's degree in neuroscience and Russian. During my time in high school and college, I tutored in a volunteer capacity on a wide range of subjects, from English and essay editing to calculus to ACT prep. I am hoping to spend the next year traveling (I am currently living in Bucharest, Romania!) before applying to medical school. I am a high school math teacher with a passion for demonstrating the practical use of math outside of the classroom. I pride myself in teaching critical thinking and decision making skills that cultivate a real world experience in my classroom to best prepare students for life after academia. I have an undergraduate and master's degree in engineering, and changed career paths into teaching because of my love for inspiring and mentoring kids. I am pursuing a graduate degree in education administration with the goal of becoming a principal so I can build stronger urban schools with better resources and implement instructional strategies geared towards disadvantaged youth.

I am currently a student at Otterbein University, working towards my teaching certificate for high school science. I've tutored over 40 students in General and AP Chemistry. I love tutoring because it gives me the chance to provide individualized attention and support to students.
