Tutoring review by Jenna in Spangle, WA
This session, we worked on homework problems involving linear regression equations with re-expressed y values. We discussed how we interpret these (with some reinforcement on creating linear regression models from statistical read-outs telling intercept and beta weight) and also how they differ from ordinary (not re-expressed) linear regressions. We then used re-expressed linear models to make predictions and analyzed residual scatter plots to determine if the model would benefit from being re-expressed and, if so, how we should re-express it.

Tutoring review by Christine in Spangle, WA
We spent the whole session studying for the student's quiz on systems of equations - solving by graphing, elimination and substitution. She was familiar with all of the techniques, but made some mistakes using subtraction for elimination, so we went over how she should always try to get opposite terms so she could use addition. We went over many examples of each type, and discussed when she should use each technique, so she seems prepared for the quiz.
