Tutoring review by William in Rosalia, WA
The student and I covered topics related to solving inequalities with one or two variables, and graphing inequalities on the number line/coordinate axes. We will continue to practice with these topics until they are mastered, especially with problems involving absolute value bars.

Tutoring review by Chloe in Rosalia, WA
The student and I spent this session working on his humanities and math homework (probability). He did very well with his assignment on Sparta - when he finds the material interesting, he is good at remembering specific details, figuring out how they relate to the bigger picture, and asking good questions that indicate his natural curiosity and understanding of the content. The probability assignment was a bit more troublesome. My concern with his performance in math is that he continues to rush through his work a bit, and doesn't ask for help when he doesn't know how to proceed with a problem. We were able to clarify some very important probability concepts (like how to calculate the likelihood of two or more related events), and we also spent some time after the session talking about the importance of asking for help, and that it is okay to not know the answer.

Tutoring review by Melissa in Rosalia, WA
We went over a previous quiz and corrected any mistakes. We discussed how to double check your answers before submitting quiz or assignment. We reviewed the online course video for the upcoming week and did all of the example problems together so she was prepared for next week's chapter. She expressed issues with the instructor giving quiz problems that she had never seen before so we made a plan to review the next week's chapter and homework so we could hopefully review things she might be missing in class. She did half of the next homework assignment while reviewing some vocabulary that was on the current assignment. I asked her to take note of any homework problems that she was struggling with over next week so we could review them next session.

Tutoring review by Emily in Rosalia, WA
We worked on proving trig equalities with the Pythagorean trig identities. The student did well with the simple proofs and worked very hard at resolving problems on her own before asking for more hints. Her homework is to finish up the book work assigned by her syllabus.

Tutoring review by Yiyu in Rosalia, WA
Today we went through the student's SSAT test together. Confusions have been clarified, especially strategies to solve word problems. We briefly talked about Chapter 4 at the beginning, and he is getting much better at simplifying exponential expressions. With more exercises of the basics in Algebra, he should feel increasingly comfortable with the challenge problems.
