I am a medical student currently attending the 6 year BA/MD program at UMKC. My interest in both the sciences and the humanities has led me to pursue a career in medicine. My favorite subjects to learn and teach include English reading and writing, Mandarin, math, and biology. I am especially passionate about teaching English reading and writing because as someone who personally went through the process of learning English from scratch, I deeply understand the challenges involved in honing one's language skills. I hope to use the lessons I have learned from my experience to help others who are working on improving their reading and writing skills, no matter how far they are along the process. I am patient, persistent, supportive, receptive to feedback, and I always strive to adapt my tutoring style to work with each student's unique needs and expectations.

I am currently a first-year student at Northwestern University studying Neuroscience and Global Health. I have experience tutoring K-12 students in mathematics, ranging from teaching elementary school students how to add and subtract to helping high school students understand Calculus. I had the opportunity to work as a paid math tutor for over a year and tutored kids in math voluntarily throughout high school.
I am entirely committed to ensuring every one of my students break through the barriers preventing them from reaching their full potential. My process involves an individual, connected explanation of the content, discussing problem-solving strategies to make testing much easier than it seems, encouraging practice and the growth of individual learning, and making sure my style of teaching is right for my student's style of learning. Most importantly, I seek to make my students love learning as much as I do.
I am Chad Bergman, a current Dartmouth student pursuing my Bachelor's in Economics with a physics minor. I have experience tutoring college economics in person on Dartmouth campus as well as online tutoring in high school calculus and physics. I've had great success on the SAT and ACT as well as my AP tests in high school, and I hope to help others succeed as well. My favorite subject to tutor is physics because I feel like learning to apply a few fundamental principles to different real world situations is extremely useful in any discipline. While tutoring I try to help students master the fundamentals so they can apply them to the material we're working on as well as future material. Outside academia, I help look after my four siblings and play more League of Legends online than is perhaps healthy.
I am a Finance Major and Biochemistry Minor at Arizona State University.
I am a former middle-school English teacher (and former high-school French teacher). I am certified to teach English (grades 6-12), History/Government/Social Studies (grades 6-12), Psychology (grades 6-12), Health (grades PreK-12), General Music (grades PreK-12), and French (grades PreK-12). I have also taught AP French and college-level French.
I am a graduate of The University of Tulsa, where I received BA degrees in Anthropology and Sociology. While studying at Tulsa, I tutored students in several subjects including, Sociology, Anthropology, and Statistics, among others. In addition, I occasionally served as a guest lecturer at the University's introductory-level Sociology courses. I offer tutoring in SAT/ACT test prep, English, Anthropology, Sociology, and Social Studies. I enjoy most working with students on writing and revising essays in any subject. When I'm tutoring, I think it is most important to talk through issues with my students and try to ascertain how they're thinking about the problems they're trying to solve. If you're thinking about the fundamentals of a problem in the correct way, any other details will fall into place fairly easily.
I'm a huge Red Sox fan and love watching detective shows when I have free time.
I'm Anna! I'm currently a student in the MD/MBA program between Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine and the Kellogg School of Management, and graduated from Northwestern University as part of the Honors Program in Medical Education. I attended the Bergen County Academies in New Jersey, a selective, application-based magnet school, for high school.
I am a second year law student at the University of Chicago who hails from the San Francisco Bay Area! I tutor the SAT, ESL, and Spanish. I was an AVID tutor in high school, and after college I taught an ESL class and tutored a high school student in Spanish. In law school, I am involved with the Lawyers in the Classroom program. My tutoring philosophy is based on listening to students work through problems and helping them to spot their confusions or incorrect assumptions. I believe students learn much better when they aren't simply told the right answer or right reasoning; they need to get there on their own.
I'm a current medical student at the University of Arizona College of Medicine with undergraduate degrees from Washington and Lee in chemical engineering and anthropology. I have extensive experience in tutoring and teaching since 2010, and am ready to help you with your learning needs! I focus on standardized testing (SAT/ACT) and also tutor in a wide range of math, English, and Spanish classes. In my free time, I like to run, do CrossFit, volunteer, and watch TV!
I am an interdisciplinary educator with an Ed.M. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education and a B.A. from Dartmouth College. My background is primarily in integrated arts learning and museum education and I specialize in visual arts, history and art history, and object-based learning. In all subjects, I take a creative, inquiry-based and learner-centered approach, designing opportunities for each unique individual to meet their learning goals.

Frequently Asked Questions
Logical Reasoning makes up two of the four scored sections on the LSAT, accounting for about 50% of your total score. This section tests your ability to analyze arguments, identify logical flaws, and draw conclusions—skills that are fundamental to law school success. Mastering Logical Reasoning is often the difference between a competitive score and one that limits your law school options.
Many students struggle with the speed required to work through 25-26 questions in 35 minutes while maintaining accuracy. Others find it difficult to quickly identify argument structures, distinguish between premise and conclusion, or recognize common logical fallacies like ad hominem or circular reasoning. Personalized tutoring helps you develop efficient reading strategies and build pattern recognition so you can tackle these questions with confidence.
Score improvement depends on your starting point and commitment level, but most students see meaningful gains—typically 3-7 points on the LSAT scale—within 8-12 weeks of focused preparation. Some students improve faster by identifying and correcting specific weaknesses, like struggling with comparative reasoning or flaw questions. A tutor can pinpoint your exact problem areas and create a targeted study plan rather than wasting time on concepts you've already mastered.
The LSAT features several recurring question types: assumption questions, strengthen/weaken arguments, flaw identification, parallel reasoning, and main point questions. Each type requires a slightly different approach and skill set. Varsity Tutors connects you with tutors who specialize in breaking down each question format, teaching you to recognize patterns quickly and apply the right strategy for each one.
Effective pacing comes from practicing with timed sections and developing a consistent reading strategy. Many students waste time by reading the stimulus multiple times or overthinking answer choices. A tutor can teach you how to read efficiently the first time, identify the core argument quickly, and eliminate wrong answers systematically—all while building the stamina to maintain accuracy under time pressure.
Practice tests are essential for LSAT success. They help you identify patterns in your mistakes, build test-day stamina, and measure progress over time. Taking full, timed practice tests is far more valuable than drilling individual questions in isolation because it simulates actual test conditions. Tutors for students in Wichita often use practice test results to diagnose whether your struggles are conceptual, strategic, or timing-related—then tailor instruction accordingly.
Look for tutors with strong LSAT scores themselves (typically 170+), law school experience, and a track record of helping students improve. They should be able to explain not just what the right answer is, but why the wrong answers are flawed—and teach you to spot those patterns independently. Varsity Tutors connects you with expert tutors who understand the nuances of Logical Reasoning and can adapt their teaching to your learning style.
Your first session typically involves assessing your current skill level through a diagnostic practice section or review of past work. The tutor will identify your specific weaknesses—whether that's argument structure recognition, timing, or particular question types—and discuss your target score and timeline. From there, they'll create a personalized study plan that focuses on your biggest opportunities for improvement rather than a one-size-fits-all approach.
