I am a rising sophomore at Brown University seeking a dual degree in bio-statistics and public health. I never thought it would be possible for me to receive an Ivy League education. All my life my father stressed to me that receiving an education was the only way for me to succeed and climb in this world. That is exactly what I kept in my mind as I worked diligently throughout high school, became the valedictorian, and was accepted to Brown University.I discovered early on my knack for teaching others since I self taught myself countless math and science subjects in high school. People would always seek my help because I could explain the information in a way that was clear and applicable. I understand how frustrating it can be to learn something new or master complex equations and chemical principles. I was not born a genius, like Einstein, but I have realized that true hard work and dedication can get you far in your education. I instill these values in all my students and I deeply enjoy watching them succeed through every new problem they encounter.I have tutored for four years in chemistry, physics, math, English, and statistics. I have also tutored students in SAT prep, and the techniques I employ have worked for every student I have taught. I identify my student's weakness and work with them to strengthen their test taking skills. I look forward to helping many people realize their true potential just like my father did for me.

I am currently a 6th grade ELA teacher with a Bachelors Degree from Loyola University Maryland in Elementary Education. I also have a Master's Degree in Literacy from Loyola University Maryland. I taught first and second grade for a combined 6 years in Baltimore City before moving to New Jersey and teaching 6th grade ELA. I have a passion for teaching the foundational skills of reading including phonemic awareness and phonics, as well as higher level comprehension skills. In my free time I enjoy spending time outside, especially with a good book in my hand!

I am a Jersey native and recent graduate of Rutgers University with a BS in Public Health. In college, I tutored middle school students in math and language arts at New Brunswick Middle School. I became very familiar with each student's learning style and leveraged their own strengths to maximize their learning curve and encourage academic development. Informally, I have also taught my fellow peers advanced math concepts they were struggling with in intermediate-level college math. Since graduation, I traveled to Thailand to take part in an ongoing public health project and taught English to elementary school children and health care workers. Although I am well adept in a variety of subject areas, Math and English are my two strong suits. There is no singular right way to learn, and there are as many strategies as there are people in the world. Therefore, as a tutor, my own personal hallmark lies in empowering students to actively use innovative learning methods to grasp even the most challenging of concepts.

I am a rising senior at Rutgers University New Brunswick, pursuing a major in Biological Sciences with minors in Psychology and Business Administration. Since early on in high school, I have been engaged in various tutoring and volunteering opportunities. Currently, I tutor as part of the Honors Program at my university as well as serve as a teaching assistant for a previously taken course. I am most passionate about mathematics and English courses, and also being able to help students perform better in standardized tests. I am a firm believer that education can have a different meaning for every student. My role in helping break down information in a way that is best suited for them, can help them progress both academically and individually. In my spare time, I enjoy reading and spending time outdoors.
