Hello! I am Kristina and I am a current Registered Nurse working in a Open Heart Surgery Stepdown Unit. I have such a passion for teaching and helping others. I've been in healthcare for 6+ years and a nurse for about one. I have learned so much during my time and I want to share my knowledge with you all. Since I was in school not that long ago, I also can relate and understand where your struggles and frustrations lie.

I received my Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry with a Minor in Mathematics from Alvernia University in Reading, PA. I proceeded to work for four years full-time following my undergraduate studies, with one year spent as a dental laboratory technician and three years employed as a nursing assistant. I completed my graduate studies at the University of Saint Joseph, in West Hartford, CT, and achieved a Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies. In August of 2022, I passed the Physician Assistant National Certifying Examination (PANCE) and became a Physician Assistant-Certified (PA-C). While I am excited to tutor students in preparation for the PANCE, medicine, medical terminology, and other subjects, my true passion is vested in helping others achieve the goals they have set forth for themselves. I first discovered this enthusiasm serving as a science and mathematics tutor during my undergraduate years, and I feel that it is my responsibility to impart the knowledge that I have gained from my education for the benefit of others. Outside of tutoring, I enjoy reading and trail running, or any balance of both physical and mental pursuits.

I'm a 4th year medical student at New York Medical College, but I am in Philadelphia for one year for medical research. I have a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology and a strong background in science courses, pre-med curricula, scientific writing, creative writing and presentations. I have tutored middle school, high school and college students in science, writing, and research-related topics and tasks like working through peer reviewed papers or designing research projects. I also teach two middle school biology classes over zoom.As a biology major in college, I have a strong soft science background (including marine bio, freshwater bio, ecology, genetics, molecular bio, biochem...) so please connect with me if you would like to work together in a science class.I eventually got to medical school, but a lot of classes didn't come easily for me along the way -- I know how it feels to hit roadblocks, but I have also gained valuable experience about how to overcome them. I previously attended the Yale School of Public Health and earned a Master of Public Health in Health Policy with a concentration in Global Health. I also hold two Bachelors degrees - a B.A. in political science and a B.A. in biology - from Vassar College. I have been a tutor for twelve years and enjoy teaching very much. I have taught both graduate and undergraduate level courses at Yale as well as multiple courses at Oxford. Some of my favorite activities include traveling, dancing (classical ballet, pointe), and playing baseball.

Learning is a habit. I grew up hearing that daily and it gradually sunk in as I progressed in school. I always enjoyed figuring out how things worked and why things happened, as my curiosity knew no bounds. As I matured, I discovered how to channel this curiosity into more productive avenues by working in study groups, helping friends answer their own questions which were usually quite similar this mine, This helped develop my confidence in teaching others through college, summer camps and medical school. I love working with different age groups as they all bring unique learning opportunities.My degrees have given me the skills to cover a wide range of subjects in the sciences and medicine, and to value each person I come across. My aim is to give my students a personalised learning experience composed of great learning opportunities and experiences so they can stay engaged, motivated and prepared for not just their classes but for life in general. Mentoring students as they learn is also crucial to the mental aspect of their growth. I also ensure that clear, practical objectives are given so students can stay focused on tasks and are able to take responsibility for their own future. In addition to this, I use different learning styles visual, verbal, discussions and review sessions as students have different learning styles. Teaching really is a privilege.

I'm currently a research fellow in immunology having graduated with my BS in Biology with Honors at the University of Central Florida. I have about a year of teaching experience in both high school and college-level chemistry and biology. Specifically my teaching areas include genetics, microbiology, immunology, molecular biology, analytical chemistry, and biochemistry.

My background is in ER Nursing. I understand the stress and pressure of balancing a career and pursuing higher education. I feel passionate about connecting with those pursuing nursing and advanced nursing degrees. My goal is to help students gain confidence through improving their understanding and application of subject matter.
