I have recently graduated with a Graduation Highest Honors award from University of California, Merced with a B.S. in Biological Sciences and a minor in Psychology. I hope to pursue my education in a healthcare-related field. Besides maintaining my academic excellence, I also worked in a research laboratory for one and a half years where I developed my passion for science and improved my interpersonal skills. Since high school, I've been exposed to different aspects of education from mentoring peer immigrants to studying education policy. Studying cognitive science in college has solidified my interest in and taught me various effective teaching methods. Ive learned that there are different types of intelligence as well as different types of learning. In order to be an effective educator, it is important to establish a relationship with the pupil to utilize the pupils learning style.Moments from being a summer school teacher for 4th-6th graders and a resident assistant for 2 years, fuel my passion for teaching.
