Tutoring review by Emily in Mission Viejo, CA
We planned on covering problem sets 11, 12, and 13 in the student's review book today but only got through 11 and a little bit of 12. I think the student feels good about using first and second derivatives of functions to plot them like she was asked to do in problem set 11, but we struggled through the word-problems with rates. We plan on covering those again at the beginning of our next session tomorrow, and maybe going through more examples to really hammer in the concepts and make things come comfortable.

Tutoring review by Nia in Mission Viejo, CA
We covered trigonometric identities and went over how to simplify complex problems using them. I offered advice on how to remember identities and how, even though this looks different, all standard math rules still apply. After understanding this, she was able to solve every practice problem I gave her with ease.

Tutoring review by Nicholas in Mission Viejo, CA
The student and I went over his review sheet and practice final for Geometry. He was mostly very comfortable with the material, though we had to go over a few concepts that he hadn't covered since last semester like the terminology for the anatomy of a circle or a polygon. We also went over a number of more complex formulas like the short-cut area of an Equilateral Triangle and how to derive it with Sine and Cosine definitions. He had a bit of confusion with similar shapes and triangles and how to derive them at the beginning, but after a number of practice problems he seemed to have everything under control.

The student and I finished our work with ordering games and will embark on grouping games starting next week. We will go over his practice test as well next week, beginning our work with Logical Reasoning. I have full confidence in his ability to knock all Ordering Games out of the park; he did a phenomenal job!
