I am able to determine what obstacles are preventing a student from grasping a concept, and create different means of overcoming those obstacles. Creating a partnership with the student and understanding what he or she needs to overcome is what makes me a great tutor.

I'm a computer and social scientist. I hold graduate degrees from Columbia University and the University of Chicago and earned my bachelor's at the University of Texas at Austin. In addition to teaching at the undergraduate level, I research ways the natural sciences can be used to advance the study of anthropology and history. I am currently completing my PhD.

I am a rising Junior at Princeton University who is passionate about the ways in which people learn, which has led me to pursue a degree in Neuropsychology. Through great experiences teaching English in Chiangmai, Thailand for two months and tutoring Calculus I and II through Princeton University's McGraw Tutoring program for two years, I have come across many learning styles and have developed a love for teaching. I am a graduate of Rice University with a degree in Mathematical Economic Analysis. Throughout college, I worked extensively with middle and early high school students, tutoring and teaching Math and Algebra. I am a graduate of Georgetown University where I earned my Bachelor of Science degree in International Politics with a concentration on Foreign Policy. I also earned a Certificate in Latin American Studies and am a member of Pi Sigma Alpha, The National Political Science Honor Society. I have experience tutoring students in both the SAT and the SSAT. Additionally, my time as an 8th Grade Science teacher here in Dallas has prepared me for the curriculum and challenges facing students in the area. While I offer tutoring in a broad range of subjects from foreign languages to grammar and writing to math and science, I find Physics to be the most enjoyable subject to teach. I see Physics as the science that allows all the other sciences to occur, and I find it helpful to use Physics demonstrations when studying the subject. When it comes to tutoring, I believe that whoever is doing the talking is doing the learning, so my students will be doing the leg work when it comes to their learning. I am currently a student at Baylor University in the Alpha Lambda Delta Honor Society for exceptional performance. I am a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, where I majored in Anthropology with a focus on Archaeology as my field of choice. I have always had a great love for history and am currently trying to turn that passion into a career. I am a second year medical student in the new MD program at Nova Southeastern University. I'm a big Boston Celtics fan and I speak three languages. I can get you the test results you need to succeed because I went through the exams myself and performed well. The first time I took the SAT I actually wasn't satisfied with my score, so I spent 2 months working hard to get my score to where I wanted it to be. The second time I took the exam I saw a 200-point increase. Previously, I have had experience teaching the SSAT and the SAT. The student I tutored in SSAT successfully passed the exam is now attending a private high school abroad. I am originally from New York City and am a student at the University of Pennsylvania studying Political Science, Economics, and Psychology. Having gone through high school and the whole college process within recent memory, I am at the unique intersection of having a very current understanding of the challenges, and of having gained experience and perspective from college. I am a new graduate of Pomona College, in Claremont, CA, where I studied Religion and Philosophy. While there, I wrote many papers of a wide variety, working on strong arguments, organization, and phrasing. I peer edited as well as volunteering with groups that mentored high school students, focusing on college admissions work, continuing and expanding my experiences from high school of tutoring for standardized testing. I am good at test taking, is my ability to organize information. It's a skill I use both in my academic life, as well as professionally; as a stage manager, it is often my job to take in complicated and conflicting pieces of information (the blocking, a quick change in costumes, changes in a script) and quickly organize that information so that I can convey it to someone else. I enjoy and excel at condensing and re-communicating facts or tasks, so that they become comprehensible to someone who may not understand them the first time around.
