I am a rising senior at Duke University who is Pre Med and majoring in Asian and Middle Eastern Studies. I was born and raised in Miami FL and went to public school until college (Sunset Elementary, GW Carver Middle and Coral Reef Senior High for those from Miami). I decided to start tutoring because I would not be on this path had I not had good teachers supporting me along the way. For that reason I want to be able to help others achieve their goals without academics being a huge hurdle.

I am a senior at Vanderbilt University, with a double major in Neuroscience and Medicine, Health, and Society (MHS). I've been tutoring students since my freshman year of high school, and I love it! In college, I'm a Research Assistant in a clinical neuroscience lab, and I'm also a Lab Assistant in another chemistry lab. I used to work at Mathnasium, which is a math tutoring company, but I love tutoring all subjects!

I'm passionate about guiding high schoolers through the college application process. The admissions process is probably one of the most confusing, anxiety-inducing experiences you'll have in high school, but I'm full of ideas for making the entire process as successful and stress-free as possible. I've successfully guided many students through every stage of admissions -- from figuring out where to apply and then staying organized and on-track, to "packaging" themselves and producing a perfect personal statement -- and I love witnessing them achieve their admissions dreams.

My interest in tutoring began in middle school when I started taking online math classes for more enrichment and exposure. In high school, I founded Mu Alpha Theta and ran it all four years of high school. I love teaching students in all aspects of math and science.

I am graduated from Penn State University in Industrial Engineering in 2017. I've tutored ever since I was in high school, and I love helping people! I like to help my students understand math (and other topics) instead of just doing it blindly. My goal is to help my students improve their math (and other topics) and build skills that will help them find learning easier in the future! Fun fact, I used to work for Disney and I like to salsa dance!

I'm an undergraduate at Princeton University working toward a degree in Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, with the Sustainable Energy Certificate.

I am up to date on the reformed common core curriculum currently used in public schools as well. Furthermore, I am capable of working with special needs children. I have worked with children on the autism spectrum, children with down syndrome, and Deaf children in behavioral therapy and their class courses.

I'm a passionate explorer, educator, and scientist. I am a Planetary Science Researcher (PhD, 2008). I write grants to NASA to use spacecraft data to study the composition and evolution of rocky planetary bodies (Moon, Mercury, asteroids). My research is broad and interdisciplinary that equips me to tutor many subjects and also to show students connections between subjects when it improves subject mastery. I have been teaching and tutoring for over twenty years, at every level of my education and career. In high school I taught aerospace education and aviation search and rescue while I earned my pilot's license. As an undergraduate at Duke I tutored athletes in Geology, Calculus, and Electrical Engineering core courses and I was a teaching assistant for Computer Science and Linear Circuits Laboratory. In graduate school I was a teaching assistant in geology. And as a professor, I've taught undergraduate and graduate science courses at a major U.S. research university. Most recently I designed a combined English and Engineering elective to students with limited English Proficiency at a small university in Colombia.

I am Pre-Med but majored in Romance Languages and Literatures. I was born in Colombia and speak Spanish at home. I studied abroad in France junior year of high school and in Chile junior year of college, and my experience abroad really strengthened my passion for languages and other cultures. I am a graduate of SUNY University at Albany. I received my Bachelor of Science in Economics and Japanese with a minor in History in 2010. Since then (and even before as a sub) I have predominantly been teaching in the New York City public education system. I had worked as a substitute teaching assistant since 2008, moving between dozens of NYC public schools before finally settling in late 2011 at M.S. 216 George J. Ryan--an incredibly diverse middle school in Queens. During my tenure in the school system I have spent time teaching students from Pre-K to 12th grade, from all cultural background and socioeconomic statuses. Regardless of whom I have taught, I have always enjoyed it, partly because I often learn as much from my students as they learn from me. Regardless of the subject, I love teaching, and I find it to be one of the most rewarding and meaningful activities, which cliched as it may sound, really can make a difference in people's lives. Besides teaching, I am also keenly interested in the human body, specifically biomechanics, kinesiology, and rehabilitation through movement.
