I am a fan of the "Pomodoro Technique," which uses a timer to split each half hour of the session into a 25 minute work period followed by a 5 minute break. The promise of a short respite helps students power through distractions, and the break helps ward off frustration. Hobbies: art, reading, writing, books, music

I received my degree from Grand Canyon University in April 2025, which means I understand how nursing school and the NCLEX are today. In school, I was a member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, as well as Alpha Chi National College Honor Society. I passed my NCLEX in 85 questions and now work in a mixed specialty ICU, where I take care of medical, surgical, neuro, and cardiovascular patients. I am a PhD student in Classics (Ancient Greek and Roman studies) at the University of Washington. I have been tutoring Latin since 2015 and was a 5th and 6th grade Latin teacher for Basis.Ed from 2016-2018. I love working one-on-one with students of all ages to improve Latin skills!

As a dedicated tutor with a strong foundation in Chemical & Biomolecular Engineering from Johns Hopkins University, I have a passion for teaching complex subjects like Chemistry, Biochemistry, and Physics. Although my formal tutoring experience is limited, I have actively helped peers understand challenging material throughout my academic journey. My approach centers on identifying students' specific areas of confusion and building from there, fostering a supportive environment where they can thrive. I believe that teaching is most effective when students engage with the material actively, and I strive to make learning enjoyable and approachable. Outside of academics, I enjoy playing basketball, soccer, chess, and participating in engineering projects, which further enhances my problem-solving skills. I am eager to inspire students and help them achieve their academic goals.

I am currently in the process of applying to Law School. I have tutored middle school and high school students in subjects ranging from 5th grade reading to geometry to the SAT. While I am happy and able to tutor a number of subjects, I am most passionate about Test Prep because these scores are very important to students, and I enjoy helping them to conquer the test and succeed. My teaching philosophy can be described as a coaching style in which, like athletics, I believe learning the subject matter, good techniques, and constant practice are the best ways to achieving better scores.

I am especially committed to supporting first-generation college students, those for whom English is a second language, and working adults as they navigate the challenges of higher ed. Nevertheless, I have taught and mentored graduate students at Harvard and talented undergrads in a variety of disciplines and welcome helping with theses. In addition to teaching, I have a background in publishing and editing, and have been a writer since childhood. Language creates reality, and interpreting and using it well opens many doors.
