I am a native Spanish speaker, born in Uruguay, South America. I have always loved the law and teaching, that is why I decided to become and Attorney at Law and to teach at the same time. While working towards my degree and long after graduating , I taught English at public high schools and tutored middle school students helping them with the language.

I am a third year medical student at Midwestern University (D.O.). I graduated from Arizona State University Summa Cum Laude with a double major in biology (B.S.) and psychology (B.S.) in addition to graduating from the honors college with a thesis on the effect of the urban heat island on hormonal regulation and development in black widow spiders. I am currently a tutor at Midwestern as well assisting first and second year students in their psychology, clinical medicine, osteopathic medicine, and pathology courses. I have also taught a course on medical ethics to first year medical students.

I am a rising sophomore at Duke University. My dream is to become a doctor someday, so I am currently on the pre-med track and taking several chemistry and biology courses. Although my current focus is in science, I have a passion for history and culture. This past summer I participated in a study abroad program in Costa Rica, where I had the privilege of meeting and speaking with people from several different backgrounds, such as an indigenous tribe and the "ancianos" from a senior living home. Because this invaluable experience, I am continuing my studies in Spanish language and culture. Because I graduated high school only a year ago, the subjects that I was taught are still fresh in my mind, especially AP courses. I am very familiar with the AP curriculum, as I have taken 10 AP classes over the course of high school, and spent a fair amount of time preparing and learning strategies for taking the tests. I enjoy learning and teaching a broad range of subjects, but I have the most experience tutoring in Algebra, Spanish, and History. My primary concern is to foster a positive environment for the student, so they feel confident in asking me questions and comfortable making mistakes. In my free time, I play badminton, read fiction, serve the community, and go on the occasional hunt for Pokmon. Hobbies: art, movies, books, reading, writing, music

I am especially committed to supporting first-generation college students, those for whom English is a second language, and working adults as they navigate the challenges of higher ed. Nevertheless, I have taught and mentored graduate students at Harvard and talented undergrads in a variety of disciplines and welcome helping with theses. In addition to teaching, I have a background in publishing and editing, and have been a writer since childhood. Language creates reality, and interpreting and using it well opens many doors. I have taught Government and Economic classes ranging from AP to ELL level; Special Education Math and Language Arts; Algebra I and II; Literature; Written Expression; Language Arts; and interesting electives such as Psychology and Robotics! I have extensive experience teaching SAT prep and assessing SAT exams. My experiences in both rural areas metropolitan areas make me a well-rounded teacher. I am a PhD student in Classics (Ancient Greek and Roman studies) at the University of Washington. I have been tutoring Latin since 2015 and was a 5th and 6th grade Latin teacher for Basis.Ed from 2016-2018. I love working one-on-one with students of all ages to improve Latin skills!

While I am happy and able to tutor a number of subjects, I am most passionate about Test Prep because these scores are very important to students, and I enjoy helping them to conquer the test and succeed. My teaching philosophy can be described as a coaching style in which, like athletics, I believe learning the subject matter, good techniques, and constant practice are the best ways to achieving better scores.
