How far can one go without knowledge?Knowledge is what makes humans superior to every animal and plant life around. It is not our strength, speed, or size that puts us on top. If that were the case; the lions, the cheetahs, and the elephants would be far superior to us. It is our knowledge and our i...

I love doing Math with all grades from Middle School to college. It started when I was in High School in 12th grade, when my principal asked me to review the 1st quarter program for students newly admitted. After completing my MS Degree in math at a university in France, I worked as an assistant professor at the Senegalese state university for nine years, during which I enjoyed solving math problems with students in calculus, algebra and trigonometry. Since 2009 I have been helping students as a substitute teacher in AISD and then FWISD. I am currently teaching as full time faculty at TCC where college algebra became my favor subject. I also enjoy teaching French as a language, since I used it from elementary school to college. I am a multicultural collection of African, French and now American cultures, cultures that have helped me adapt with any family and environment.

I specialize in science and sarcasm. When AP classes got hard and late nights got longer, teaching my peers and hosting study groups through my local National Honor Society Chapter helped me learn and help those around me. I taught and tutored HOSA test subjects and the PLTW biomedical science curriculum through high school. Now I am a Public Health student at A&M on the pre-med track. I will make awkward acronyms that are way too cheesy but get the job done.I look forward to tutoring you!

I graduated from John Brown University with a Bachelor's degree in Broadcasting. I have spent most of my professional career working in youth-oriented radio as an on-air host, though I have also worked as a substitute teacher in the past. As a broadcaster, published author, and ready writing medalist, I have a passion for effective communication. I believe in celebrating small achievements and building on incremental gains to reach goals. I particularly enjoy tutoring essay writing and algebra II.

I earned a Master's Degree in Mathematics from the University of Houston, as well as a Bachelor's Degree from Morgan State University, located in Baltimore Maryland. I majored in Math because, after trying out a few other majors, I realized it was the one subject that came easiest to me, and actually found fun. Even as a kid, I've always enjoyed solving puzzles and games. So, learning math was a way to apply my problem-solving talent and my love of logic.I'd say, I first realized I also had a passion for TEACHING math during my experience as a graduate teaching assistant. Thus, after finishing college, I'd often teach math as an adjunct professor. Eventually, I decided to go all in, and I taught math at a high school in Washington D.C. for a couple of years. I followed that up by teaching at a community college in the D.C. area for over a year. After that, I moved from D.C. to the Dallas Fort-Worth area (where I still reside), and took a short break from teaching. But the teaching bug wouldn't go away. So, in 2010, I returned to the academic world, and I obtained a full-time Math Instructor position at Tarrant County College here in DFW, and worked there for 10 years, where I grew both personally and professionally. One of my strengths is my communication skills, and over the years I worked hard to hone many of my explanations, to make them as clear and concise as I think I can. Some of the compliments that I've received from students I taught and tutored is that I'm patient, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic.

The student is the artist, and the canvas is their educational experience. The tutor is the the person who provides the student with brushes/paints to create, and guides them with techniques to become more confident in their creation. The art is already inside the student, and the tutors duty is to unlock that potential to create.

I am a graduate of Texas Wesleyan University. I received my Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education with a specialization in math. I am a Texas Certified teacher in Elementary Education 1-8 and Elementary Math 1-8. Years later, I attended graduate school at the University of Texas in Arlington with a Master's degree in Curriculum and Instruction in Math and then Concordia University Texas with a Master's degree in Academic Leadership. Since graduating in 1993, I have spent my career teaching and tutoring students from from all walks of life. While I tutor a broad range of subjects, I am most passionate about Math. I compare math to that of completing a puzzle. There are many ways to solve a puzzle but you will end up with the same result. I believe that all students have the ability to learn and show growth when given the proper tools to meet their needs. Through these beliefs, I show compassion and patience with the students I work with and encourage them to have a growth mindset to achieve the goals they have set for themselves. As the saying goes, "It takes a village to raise a child," therefore it takes parents, students, teachers and tutors to work together to ensure the best learning experience for each student. Teaching is not a one size fits all. When it comes to my approach to tutoring, I hold students to high expectations while encouraging a growth mindset through individualized instruction, well-planned, organized and rigorous lessons planning, a safe working environment and encourage risk-taking through inquiry and exploration to problem solve in all subjects. As a life-long learner myself, I encourage students to look at the world around them because doing so provides the greatest learning experience of all. Questioning, observing and analyzing their environment is the basis for life-long learning and will set students up to excel in future endeavors.

"I believe that all education proceeds by the participation of the individual in the social consciousness of the race. This process begins unconsciously almost at birth, and is continually shaping the individual's powers, saturating his consciousness, forming his habits, training his ideas, and arousing his feelings and emotions." - John DeweyJohn Dewey's words encompass everything that I believe education to be. It is a right for every child to receive a quality education that does not just test his/her ability to test, but challenges their natural curiosity. School should be a place where mistakes are welcomed and questions are the currency that allows students and teachers to maneuver the educational landscape of a classroom. To me, teachers are facilitators and molders of the next generation of citizens. In order for teachers to mold students effectively teachers must focus on the
