I graduated from Rutgers University, New Brunswick NJ in 2009 with a BA in Psychology and Biological Sciences. I completed my medical education in December 2014 and will receive my Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) Degree from Ross University in March 2015. I have tutored multiple subjects from High School to Medical School. I tutor Psychology, Biology, Physiology, Anatomy, Algebra, Geometry, among other subject. My favorite subject to tutor are in the science and math fields. I cater my tutoring style to each individual student. Every student is different and learn material differently so as a tutor I must find what works best to teach my students. I believe it is important to stress teaching concepts so that the student is able to learn the material and be confident enough to solve any problem. I also teach proper note taking skills and study methods that can be implemented outside of the classrooms to help maximize learning. One of my biggest motivations for becoming a doctor is my immense desire to help people. Whether I am teaching, listening, problem solving, or just lending a hand, helping others is what I find to be most enjoyable. I believe that helping others gives me a different perspective on life. Since a very young age, I was taught to never deny help to anyone for any reason. I have lived by this ideal my entire life and I will continue to do so throughout my medical career. A number of life events, personal experiences and mission work in different countries solidified my desire to be come a physician.

Education, for me, is about finding your passion and helping others do the same. Education isn't just the books you read in school or the math problems you practice at home. It is about finding yourself and the passion that ignites you to move forward. It can come from the challenges we face, or it can come from the accomplishments we achieve, the goal we helped our teammates score in soccer. Educating students is more than placing them in a school, it's about igniting their passions and that is what I aim to do as an educator. As a student, I fell in love with language and it quickly became my passion. To me, language is the key to understanding the world, but more than that, it has allowed me to understand the diversity of people and thought. Language is an amazing and unique tool that has allowed all of us to communicate in some way or another, and it was this passion for language that drove my education. I began by double majoring in anthropology and French at the University of New Mexico, and three short years later, I followed with an MA in anthropology and education at Teachers College, Columbia University, where I completed my research in my home away from home-France.As a tutor, I like to help students find the knowledge and passion from within by understanding who they are and what they need in order to be successful. By allowing students to find a bit of themselves in their learning, they are able to strengthen their personal skills and become more connected to what they are learning.School is not all I do though. In my spare time, I love to travel and explore the world, taking a trip whenever and wherever I can, learning to cook new recipes wherever I go. I also love to do yoga, rock climbing, hiking and be anywhere outdoors. The sunshine is my happy place because it can be found even on the seemingly darkest of days!

I am a current student at Williams College double majoring in chemistry and Arabic studies concentrating in public health on a pre-med track. I speak English and Latvian fluently, and am learning Arabic and French. I tutor a wide range of subjects, but I especially enjoy tutoring in the sciences because I feel that introducing students to the sheer amount of what is possible in the sciences is an amazing opportunity. I feel that an introduction to science should be molded around a student's interests because teaching a student about something that they are already passionate about will always yield the best results. I am currently studying to become an EMT and enjoy being in the outdoors and tinkering.

My name is Sneha, and I would be happy to start tutoring for you today!I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign with a bachelor's in Integrative Biology, Chemistry and Philosophy. Currently, I am a PhD student in the Molecular, Cellular and Developmental Biology (MCDB) program at the University of Illinois at Chicago. In addition, I have scored in the 97th percentile on my ACT/SAT and have scored in the 90th percentile on the MCAT.My love and passion for teaching stems from my 5+ years of experience as a undergraduate TA (Teaching Assistant) at UIUC and as a graduate student TA at UIC teaching Organic Chemistry, Chemistry, Cell Biology and Biology. My areas of expertise are all courses under Biology and Chemistry, including prepping students for the MCAT. I have had a lot of academic success in those areas personally, throughout my educational experience and I continue to do so as a graduate student. So, my understanding and mastery of Biology, Biochemistry and Chemistry is very strong.I practice many adaptive teaching methods, such as presenting relevant models or examples, facilitating an open discussion to allow the students to explain the concepts back to me and conducting routine assessments with mini-quizzes and exams to help the students gain a deeper understanding of each concept. These teaching methods have helped me and all of my previous students, ranging from elementary to high school, to succeed in their coursework!I look forward to working with you!

I was born in Singapore and grew up in Houston, TX. Having graduated from the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelors degree in Mechanical Engineering, I am continuing my education with a Master's in the same field. For years, I've helped my friends and siblings with homework for school, and they've always told me that I had a talent for teaching; I understand concepts very easily, and explanations come easy as well. The goal that I work towards for my students is to bless them holistically, both through my academic skills and through any relationship that I am able to build with them. I believe in teaching my key patterns of thinking; teach them how to fish instead of giving them a fish, as it is said. I am best at Math and Science, and any of the high-school level subjects pertaining to those fields.

Originally from central Minnesota, I earned my BA from Hamline University in 2013 with a degree in English, a concentration in creative writing, minors in women's studies and psychology, and a certificate in teaching English as a foreign language. When I wasn't working on academics, I wrote for the newspaper, served as a new student mentor with transfer students, and worked at a toy store in a nearby mall. Currently, I'm working toward my MA in early childhood education from Concordia University. I also take Spanish classes. After tutoring middle and high school students in math, social studies, literature, writing, and Spanish during my undergrad, I completed a year of service with Minnesota Reading Corps as an elementary school literacy tutor. Now I work as a preschool teacher in a Spanish-English dual immersion preschool; I co-teach a class of 17 three and four year olds.Beyond academics, I love to bike around the Twin Cities, find new nooks to explore, read, and practice yoga. I've traveled to Mexico, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Panama, and hope to see more of Central and South America soon. I write and perform poetry, and coach a team of college slam poets. I'm interested in building positive, mutual mentoring relationships with those I tutor.
