I am a 2016 graduate from the University of Nebraska at Lincoln and received my Bachelor of Science in Education and Human Sciences. My degree includes K-6 endorsements in Elementary Education and Special Education. I have taught elementary school for 5 years and love working with students to find their passion and to help them overcome academic challenges, as I truly believe learners can accomplish anything they set their mind to! I am extremely passionate about reading, but I also love teaching writing, math, and unit studies. My teaching style focuses on hands-on engagement and meaningful discussion to learn the material. I am also a firm believer in incorporating real-life applications while teaching so students can see how they will actually use the knowledge in their future.

I am a graduate of Loyola University Maryland. I received my degree in Fine arts. Since graduation, I have worked with a politician over the summer as their PR specialist, civic engagement committee, and graphic designer. I also have been working with other organizations to ensure change and justice throughout my community.I am always passionate about drawing and painting. While I was in high school, I created a club solely for drawing, and plan to continue showing the importance of art in general to others. Education is key, and learning new things is powerful. I always enjoy teaching others about new concepts of art and related topics. Teaching something new can cause a peak of interest or allow the student to explore new things that they can later use.I am an educator always willing to teach new concepts in art ranging from colors, figures, and comic book drawing while having fun. In my free time, I usually read, I sometimes write to help clear my mind, and draw/write manga (a style of Japanese comic books and graphic novels).

I started tutoring in high school, but I have helped friends in class since I was little. Since then, Ive tutored middle school students in math, high schoolers in Algebra and Calculus, and Ive taught math to elementary schoolers. As you can tell, my favorite subject to tutor would be any kind of math. Ive always liked that math is straight forward and has a right answer. Ive always had a passion for teaching, and I love seeing the look on students faces when they finally understand. I think that poor education is the root of many of our societys problems, and I am striving to end that problem one student at a time. From the teaching class I took, I learned that the best way to do that is to guide students in the right direction, but let them figure the answer out on their own. Im currently getting my Bachelors degree in Psychology at the University of Maryland, however I plan to continue on to get my Masters in Education. Outside of school, I love to spend my free time bowling, taking photographs, reading Harry Potter, volunteering with local organizations, and spending time with friends.

After graduating with a BA in English from the University of Dallas and a Master of Arts from the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art, I went on to teach classes of 6-11th grade students at Trivium Preparatory Academy for 3 years in English, Writing, and Math. I also tutored students individually for all sections of the SAT and ACT during my time there, and I have continued to do so for the past year with Varsity Tutors. I love teaching English and Literature because I have a passion for storytelling, and I enjoy teaching Math and Grammar because of their rational nature and the enjoyment that comes from solving logic puzzles. When I am not teaching, I enjoy going to the movies, spending time with my five younger brothers and sisters, and volunteering within MENSA. I believe that learning can always be made fun and is extremely rewarding when you put in the work. I look forward to sharing my love of all these subjects with you as a future student, and I look forward to meeting you!
