I'm Czarina Alfonso, a junior at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland. In high school, I was a honors student with membership in the National Honor Society, Science Honor Society and Math Honor Society. I was also a member of my school's Diversity Council and president of the medical club. Since I'm currently a chemistry major/premed student, I have lots of experience with STEM related courses (AP Chem, AP Bio, AP Calculus, AP Statistics). I've also taken both AP English Language and Composition and AP English Literature. In addition to my AP course load in high school, I also studied for multiple SAT subject tests (Bio 790, Math 2 770, Chem 770) and the SAT (770M, 770ERW). Outside of academics, I did lots of volunteer work (founded nonprofit called Give It a Shot that raises money to provide pneumonia vaccines to daycare aged children in the Philippines, worked at local hospital, peer tutored at school) and played a sport (fencing) at a national level. I am passionate about education, learning, teaching, and specifically literatures and languages. I have experience as an ESL teacher for young children and teens, as well as experience working as a Writing Consultant at my undergraduate institution. I also spent all four years of my undergraduate career volunteering as an SAT tutor for local high schoolers. Beyond this, I have experience both as a private and public Spanish tutor. I love to help students reach their educational and personal goals in any way that I can.

I am an engineering student at Princeton University. I have taken and tutored many AP subjects especially in the sciences and math. I have experience tutoring students of all ages in a variety of topics including test prep (ACT, AP Exams, etc.) and general science/math course tutoring. My focus is on helping students gain a critical understanding of the subjects at hand so they can apply that knowledge to solving a variety of problems. Hobbies: reading, music, writing, art, books

I am working to obtain a Bachelors of Science in Biochemistry. With that said, I tutor many STEM based subjects, along with ACT tests and strategies. My current favorite subject is General Chemistry, but my favorite changes every so often. My tutoring style is based off trying to get to know every student I work with and their unique thought processes.

I am a recent graduate of Brown University (2012- GPA 3.7) where I graduated with degrees in English Literature and Theatre Arts. I have always had a passion for teaching, first fostering this interest as a teacher's aid in my school's Lower School and as a camp counselor for a number of years. Teaching and education continued to be an important part of my collegiate life as well. As far as hobbies are concerned, I love Photography and travel writing. I have a long list of resources that can provide alternative ways to learn, whether that's through well-written textbooks, videos, or interactive virtual tools. I am patient and encourage questions, and will work with a student step-by-step until they understand it well enough to answer it on their own.

I am a third year electrical engineering student at Princeton University, with a focus in applied physics, and minors in German studies and history. I want to tutor because I am always excited about learning new things, and I want to share this with students of all ages. I find that this way, a student can do difficult work, excel, and feel both accomplished and happy. I have a broad range of specialties, from physics, to programming in Java and C, to German, to test prep and college applications help. I also love workshopping all kinds of writing, whether personal or academic. Some of my qualifications include physics research at a Max Planck Institute and acceptances to Harvard and UC Berkeley. I have experience teaching environmental science to children at a botanical garden and volunteering as a reading tutor for elementary schoolers behind grade level.

I am a history teacher who had a long career in banking before returning to teaching. My career gave me the opportunity to travel extensively while living abroad (13 years in London). Through this I was able to learn about other cultures and the connections that run through our Modern World.
