A good teacher can make an enormous impact on the life of a student. I have seen this firsthand throughout my life. As a student, I learned how to read and write critically because I had teachers who cared, and who invested themselves in my education. Because of these teachers, I have dedicated myself to the education of others. As a tutor, there is nothing more gratifying than having a student report back that a paper got an A, or that a much-feared test was actually a breeze.My goal as your tutor is to remove the fear and anxiety that may surround a subject, and to place there instead something positive--the love of a book, an appreciation for a well-written paragraph, and the confidence to attack any test or assignment with assurance.I hold my Master's Degree in English Curriculum and Instruction for grades 5-12, and I am well-versed in different teaching methods to ensure that a student who works with me has every chance of success. I eventually started branch out and help classmates with things like the ACT or SAT. I hope to help you or your child succeed with the subjects where they need assistance.

I taught kindergarten and first grade from 1995 to 2007. I try to present a concept in several ways until the student understands. One boy found math difficult. He learned the multiplication table from 0 to 12 in a month. Which shows he could learn it and that my methods work.

I obtained my Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics at the University of Connecticut (UConn) and I now work as a Lecturer for the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities, School of Mathematics.I also obtained both my Bachelor's and Master's of Arts degree from Rhode Island College (RIC) and have worked as a Math Tutor and Teacher's Assistant throughout my time at RIC. Intellectually, I believe knowledge is fluid and requires practice to perfect. I enjoy showing my peers/students different ways of examining problems in order to achieve a well-rounded understanding of the material through derivation, never memorization. My main mission is to showcase my passion for Math and hopefully encourage students to see the beauty and wonder of this phenomenal subject.

I love educating others because knowledge has always been something very important to me. My older brother has low-functioning autism; throughout my childhood, I would help him with life skills and academics. I am a biology student at The Pennsylvania State University in my second year. I tutor subjects such as Science, English, and Algebra, but my favorite would have to be Spanish. I introduce different learning styles to students based on their respective needs. Outside of the classroom, I love going to the gym, spending time with friends, and partaking in genetic research.

As a recent high school graduate, I understand what it is like to juggle extracurriculars, AP classes, and college applications. I have sat through mundane test prep classes only to realize that I had not truly grasped the material and did not feel confident in my abilities to do well. I believe the key to excelling in a subject is to develop an interest in it along with learning the material, and this is what I hope I accomplish as a tutor for my students. I work with my students in a stress-free zone and encourage questions and discussion rather than lectures. In addition to studying engineering at the University of Miami, I have years of experience learning Russian as a native speaker. During high school I was a competitive ballroom dancer and continue to train in college.

I am currently studying mechanical engineering in the University of Toronto. My academic passions are math and physics, and I have experience tutoring these subjects. When I was in high school, I tutored many middle school students in these subjects and I thoroughly enjoyed it! I am here to make your academic experience easier. I have been through the same difficult times and I am still studying right now, so I understand the patience I need and the methods you need to be successful!

I believe that as an instructor I am meant to impart more than just knowledge of a particular subject to my students; academic growth is only one part of a holistic education.
