The student had another great session! He worked diligently throughout the entire lesson, which allowed us to cover a vast amount of material. The entire lesson was centered around how to complete various mathematical operations with polynomials. During this session, we were able to build off of the student's current knowledge of monomial & binomial expressions, as well as introduce him to strategies for working with trinomial expressions. Next week we will plan on covering the product rule and power rule of exponents, and how they apply to polynomial expressions.

The student and I met for the final time before the October 3rd SAT. We started by going through the critical reading section. I did a general overview, and then we went through specific types of passages. We started with science. I stressed the importance of not confusing a true answer with a correct answer; I also stressed the importance of going back to the passage. He did better when he went back to the passage and eliminated answers he knew were incorrect. We then went to the writing section. I had him do a variety of improving sentence questions. I had him do questions with pronouns, word choice, and commas. He and I have covered a lot of content and strategies for the SATs.
