Tutoring review by Tim in Toppenish, WA
The student continues to do very well in her class. She's working on systems of equations. In our lesson, we reviewed solving for 3 variable equations. We spent the rest of the session working through word problems that designated geometric vertices and evaluated the max and min outputs. She seems quite prepared for her exam next Friday.

In algebra: We continued reviewing algebra concepts, and worked through Ch. 10 today (simplifying expressions with radicals and solving equations; Pythagorean theorem). There were a few steps that took a while to figure (particularly how to deal with radical terms), but with additional practice he should be fine. He grasped Pythagorean theorem much better this session than last week. In biology: We created a study plan for the next few days leading up to his final. Most of study plan consists of daily 20-30 minute study sessions, and an hour this Sunday. This way, he will have ample time to study all the material and still have time to study for his other classes.

We additionally came up with a drawing and story to help with retention of math terms such as rational numbers versus irrational numbers, integers, whole, and natural numbers. He was very focused and had a great attitude. We discussed continuing to strengthen his basic math skills including fact fluency.

The student and I worked on his online schooling, spending most of the time working on algebra learning and practicing two step inequality problems. This was his introduction to the material. After absorbing the information, he did well to apply it. We then worked a little bit on his biology course, where he was introduced to photosynthesis. We will be getting more in depth into it as we progress.
