During this session we covered decimals, percents, and fractions. We covered how to convert the three into each other and what that means. We also covered integers, decimals, rational, and irrational numbers. We discussed what these terms mean, and examples of all of these definitions. We worked on math, turning fractions into improper fractions. The student struggled with the conceptualizations of the concepts, but was able to easily utilize the equations for each question. The student engaged in the activity well, and was able to creatively understand the concepts in different ways. One strategy learned in class was to treat fraction lines as division lines, to help the student better understand fraction to decimal conversions. The movement of points was conceptualized into single concepts to better understand conversions of decimals to percents.

The student and I worked on creating a key word outline. We co-read "The Falling Rocks" passage. We will utilize this program to focus on his reading comprehension and to further develop his writing skills. Again, as previously stated in the prior session, he is a joy to work with. He is very eager to learn and participate in the sessions. I assigned writing homework for him to return to me next Friday.

The bulk of his questions were from quadratic equations. I think he has a good understanding of the material.
