We started with a review of the unit circle, graph properties of trig functions, and arc length. The student is slowly gaining ready familiarity with these important concepts. Per her request we spent the rest of the session reviewing for her upcoming physics test. The subject matter tied nicely into what she's been doing in trig - waves. Most of the work we did was discussing the concepts of wave behavior including reflection, refraction, diffraction, dispersion, propagation through mediums, and interference. We discussed the Doppler effect, and sonic booms. I quizzed the student on the differences and similarities between light and sound, then we went over a few problems involving frequency, wavelength, and period. The student seems to have a fairly solid grasp of the concepts, but we ended up emphasizing vocabulary.

Today the student did some timed practice sections to get used to working with the time limits on the SAT. After she finished, we reviewed the questions she had trouble with and she finished the rest of the section that she didn't have time for. She is getting better at finishing on time and improving her percentage of correct questions as well, which is a good sign. For next week she will be doing a practice math section online.
