Tutoring review by Jerilynn in Stanwood, WA
We continued reviewing polar coordinates, focusing mostly on solving equations both algebraically and graphically in addition to converting between rectangular and polar coordinates. We looked at setting two equations in polar coordinates equal to each other and solving for theta to find where they intersect. We looked at how a negative radius gives a line in the opposite quadrant from the positive radius and what the graphs look like when either the radius or angle are constants. The student is doing well converting from polar to rectangular coordinates and is becoming more comfortable converting from rectangular to polar. She is also doing well using various trigonometric identities to simplify and solve equations in polar coordinate form.

Tutoring review by Robert in Stanwood, WA
Today we focused on working with imaginary numbers and quadratic functions. He did not really understand how to solve equations or how to simplify expressions that include imaginary numbers because of the fast pace his professor moves, so I went back and showed him various examples to assist. We will need to review the material more for him to get a solid understanding of the content, but he's already improving.

We covered trig Identities. The student struggled in over thinking problems and in the starting approach of solving a problem. She was very interested in the materials and felt like things now make more sense to her. I have left her with some problems to practice proving identities.
