Tonight we worked on the student's vocabulary. He showed me a graded language arts quiz, and we reviewed why he hadn't received full credit on his essay answers. Per his mom's request, we worked on a topic sentence and 3 main points for an essay on dream vacations. He needed help with developing topic sentences and finding supporting details. We are going to expand the supporting details and begin writing paragraphs at our session on Wednesday. We also worked on spelling, and I encouraged him to use some of his new words when he writes other assignments. He is always cooperative and is a pleasure to tutor.
