Tutoring review by Nathan in Roseville, MN
The student and I reviewed factoring shortcuts, exponents raised to another power, volume/mixture problems, exterior angles of polygons, repeating decimals, graphing inequalities on a number line, resultant vectors, similar triangles, and circle brain teasers. He continues to have a great attitude towards the material and seems to be growing more confident in her problem solving abilities.

I worked with the student's sister and her cousin again. They are both great listeners and eager to learn new things. We worked on basic algebra and some order of operations with fractions. I brought some worksheets that we worked through together and they both liked doing them. I will bring some more next week.

After our greetings, we reviewed the syllabus and the class notes briefly. We went over the definitions of vector and scalar as well as some of their examples. Then, we went on to the student's classwork involving trig ratios of sine, cosine, and tangent. We set up the appropriate trig ratios and solved for the missing side or the missing angle.

Tutoring review by Dorothy in Roseville, MN
Tonight we worked on the student's vocabulary. He showed me a graded language arts quiz, and we reviewed why he hadn't received full credit on his essay answers. Per his mom's request, we worked on a topic sentence and 3 main points for an essay on dream vacations. He needed help with developing topic sentences and finding supporting details. We are going to expand the supporting details and begin writing paragraphs at our session on Wednesday. We also worked on spelling, and I encouraged him to use some of his new words when he writes other assignments. He is always cooperative and is a pleasure to tutor.

Tutoring review by Connor in Roseville, MN
We first covered using both graphical and mathematical methods for determining intervals for increasing/decreasing, concavity, and critical and inflection points. After that, we briefly covered Newton's method. The student has it coming up next week. We then covered related rates in brief. We will spend more time on both of those subjects as they come up in class.
