It was known as Chocolate Ville until 1824, when Jenks suggested the current name.

The beginning collection was originally housed at the Mois and Jenks shop and moved to a small, free public library in 1847 after it was established. The building is named for Stephen L. Adams, a community idol and who had included the desire for the library in his will. Hence, the library was constructed. Today, it houses old and new literature. Jenks Park was built in 1890 and given to Alvin Jenks as a gift. Jenks descended from the original Captain Jenks. Tutoring review by Cody in Manchester, MO
The student has now started school. He was moved up to an advanced "math analysis" class. The class is basically pre-calculus.
