My goal is for students to leave sessions with me feeling confident and clear about the subject. I understand that a competent, well prepared, and caring tutor can make a lot of difference in students' progress. I have enjoyed teaching and tutoring since I graduated from high school (in 2008). My first job right out of high school was teaching English as a second language. I did that for about two years. In my undergrad studies I tutored Psych. Assessments, History & Systems of Psych, and Industrial/Organizational Psych. As a grad student I tutored Business Statistics. I just graduated with a Master's in Industrial-Organizational Psychology. Answering students' questions and helping them learn how to solve problems is something I'm passionate about.

I am a senior at Northwestern University majoring in Political Science and International Studies. After I graduate, I will be pursuing work in the public sector, working specifically in foreign affairs. I have thoroughly enjoyed my college experience, and have developed tremendously as a writer and critical thinker. I hope to help students do the same as a tutor.
I am an undergraduate at Washington University, and I grew up in Columbus, Ohio. Math has always been one of my favorite subjects. I love Pre-algebra, Calculus, Linear Algebra and everything in between! I have tutored for about four years and have worked with students of all ages. Most students come to me for Math, but I have also worked with students on SAT and ACT test prep, Statistics and Physics. Everyone learns in a slightly different way, and I love figuring out the best way to teach something to people individually and dig down to what questions they really need to have answered to understand the material. In my spare time, I like to go on long bike rides and explore St. Louis's restaurants. I also love baking, playing with dogs and cats, watching movies with my friends and playing soccer.
I am a dental student at University of Missouri-Kansas City and I will graduate with a DDS in 2025. I have benefitted immensely from study groups, peer workshops, and online resources during my time in undergrad, so I know how much a little extra work can help in the long run. I am excited to work with you to make your English, reading, writing, biology, or psychology goals a reality! When I'm not doing school stuff, I love to read, hang out with my foster cats, and spend time outside.
I'm tutoring to ask clarifying questions . I really enjoy taking seemingly difficult topics and explaining them in a logical fashion while emphasizing the basics every step of the way. I find that students' frustration with a concept generally stems from uncertainty regarding how to organize many intersecting ideas. Nothing makes me more proud then watching a student master a formerly daunting topic.
I'm an energetic and experienced ESL teacher with an extensive background in teaching middle and high school, as well as college. I love helping people reach their goals - that's why I became a teacher! I believe in a wholistic approach, where we work on communicating and listening in tandem. All our lessons will be fun and tailored to what you need.
I am a native speaker of Chinese and have more than 12 years of teaching experience. I also speak fluently English and French. I received my Master's degree in Linguistics in 2009. Since 2010, I have worked as a middle school teacher in a Chinese immersion school in California for 10 years. I also taught History and Theater in Chinese. I have experience in tutoring students of various ages. My biggest joy is to see my students speak Chinese with passion and confidence. Together, we can make your dream come true!
I am a high school graduate from The Pembroke Hill School in Kansas City, Missouri and currently studying at Washington University in St. Louis in the class of 2024. Through my high school's Spanish program, I tutored students just two years below my level of Spanish. And through our debate program, for my sophomore, junior, and senior years, I mentored students new to the activity. I have always seen helping other students as an opportunity of growth, not only for that student, but for myself as well. I feel that I am qualified to tutor all middle and most high school levels of math, chemistry, and Spanish. As for standardized tests, I am most oriented towards the ACT. My favorite subject to learn and tutor is Math because it allows the student an opportunity to understand a concept much deeper than the surface. And that is my focus for when I learn a concept or teach a concept: understanding not only the what but the how and why as well.
I am originally from the suburbs of St. Louis, MO, and I attended Rockhurst University for my undergraduate degree. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts in French & Education with a minor in English Literature. I am also currently working towards a Master of Arts in French at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. I am certified to teach French K-12 in the state of Missouri (and have the qualifications for Kansas). I enjoyed teaching at both the middle school and the high school level as part of my training. During my undergraduate studies, I tutored both writing and French. I am now substitute teaching at a French immersion school in the area, and I had fun teaching grades 2nd and 5th there over the summer. I am available to tutor English grammar, literature, writing, math up to Algebra 1, all levels of French, and test prep (including ACT). As someone with an appreciation for languages, I especially like tutoring English and French. Since I am a certified teacher, I am prepared to present information in a variety of ways to help my students with understanding. Additionally, I like to help my students take responsibility for their own learning during our sessions. Aside from teaching, I enjoy spending time with my roommates and our animals, watching shows and movies, going to sporting events, and taking advantage of the nice weather outdoors.
I am a High School Science Teacher for the Smithville School District. I have experience teaching AP Chemistry, Honors and General Chemistry, and Honors and General Biology, Forensic Science, Biomedical Science, and Anatomy & Physiology.
I am here to help you improve your communication skills, as well as furthering along your ability to comprehend texts, in order for you to become the best student that you can possibly be.
I am currently working on a Biotechnology degree after changing from an Aerospace Engineering degree after getting married. I have extensive experience in Mathematics and Science, and I am a very capable writer as well. I can tutor nearly any S.T.E.M course up through highschool (and some college), along with English and grammar - more specifically paper writing - up to an early college level.

Whether your student attends a school in Springfield Public Schools or Parkway, we match them with tutors who understand local curriculum standards and can support their specific academic needs.
Springfield students frequently seek help with math, English/language arts, science, and standardized test preparation—particularly as they work toward meeting Missouri's academic standards. We also support students preparing for ACT exams, which are widely taken across Missouri high schools. Tutors can focus on whatever subjects your student finds most challenging.
With Springfield's average student-teacher ratio of 12.6:1, many students benefit from one-on-one attention that addresses their individual learning gaps. Personalized tutoring fills that gap by providing focused instruction tailored to your student's pace and learning style, helping them master concepts that may get less attention in a traditional classroom setting.
During the first session, the tutor will assess your student's current level, understand their specific challenges, and learn about their learning style. This helps establish a personalized plan that targets the areas where your student needs the most support, whether that's catching up, staying ahead, or preparing for an important exam.
Tutors are familiar with Missouri's academic standards and can align their instruction to ensure students are building skills in line with state expectations. This is especially helpful for students working toward grade-level proficiency or preparing for state assessments, as tutors can focus on the specific content and skills Missouri requires.
Tutoring rates vary based on the subject, tutor expertise, and frequency of sessions. We recommend contacting us for a personalized quote based on your student's specific needs. Many families find that investing in targeted tutoring early prevents larger academic gaps down the road.
Yes, tutoring can be scheduled around your student's existing commitments—whether that's school, sports, or other activities. Tutors work with families to find times that work best, making it easy to fit personalized instruction into your student's routine.
