Tutoring review by Tiffany in Lee's Summit, MO
The student is having trouble with his basic multiplication facts, which makes it difficult for him to do division and other more difficult problems involving multiplication. We covered his 4's times tables and 6 times tables, but doing drills the majoring of the session. We ended the session with a 5 minute game of war (card game) using cards, and with a spin so that he would be able to have fun while learning. I also began to explain that multiplication is simply addition which he began to understand.

She has a lot of writing work and tests/ quizzes to study for this week, so we also planned out her schedule.

Tutoring review by Jared in Lee's Summit, MO
The student and I covered adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing integers as well as combining like terms. We had worked on these things separately, and now I tried to make her put those skills together. She actually did very well. I then gave her some more problems and showed her how she can quickly check her work. We then moved on to biology, and we went over the structure of a cell. I quizzed her on the different parts, and she did well in learning what each part does.

Tutoring review by Mike in Lee's Summit, MO
We covered combining exponents. This included multiplying, dividing, and raising exponents to a power. We discussed the properties used to simplify the expressions. The student did not have any issues with any of the problems in homework or examples I provided. We briefly discussed scientific notation. Then I pre-taught for 15-20 minutes on factoring quadratics.
