Since the student had a quiz coming up the day after our session, we primarily focused on the subject covered on the quiz, inverse functions. We began by working through a practice quiz he had from his class which covered reflecting graphs over the line y=x, finding the inverse of a function, verifying that two functions are inverses of each other, and finding domain/range of a function and its inverse. After he had completed the practice quiz, we worked through some more practice problems that I had brought with me for our session.

The student took a practice exam today and we covered the questions he was having a hard time with. He did very well, and only needed help with approximately five questions out of 24 questions, but after I explained the concepts to him or reminded him of a certain topic, he did very well.

Tutoring review by Adrian in Greenwood, IN
For this session the lesson consisted of both of them going over a review from one of their classes. I worked through the review with them, helping them understand concepts that they weren't as familiar with. Overall it went well, and I felt confident that when I left, they had a better understanding of the material.

Tutoring review by Alexander in Greenwood, IN
Today was a really good session. We have been having trouble with transformations and the central limit theorem, but I think we got over the hump today. First we went over a couple of basic probability formulas including intersection, union, conditional probability, and independence. The student had a quiz he had gotten back where he missed a few problems on these topics. Once we went over the formulas and worked through the answers it seemed like he was getting a grip on these concepts. Then we focused on transformations and the central limit theorem for about an hour. We went over the formulas for the expected value and variance of a transformation, and then applied them to the central limit theorem to break down what kinds of conclusions the theorem allows us to make. The student had trouble in the past, but actually got through the material without being problems today. This was maybe our best session yet. I am really happy with the progress I'm seeing him make.

Tutoring review by Johnny in Greenwood, IN
The student wanted to go over his review for his test, which consisted of various derivatives, graphs, tangent lines, and average and instantaneous slopes. He needed a bit of a reminder of how to do some of the problems, and afterwards he would know how to do that type of problem.
