I am currently an undergraduate student in the School of Engineering at the University of Virginia (UVA), and an alumnus of Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology (TJHSST). I plan to major in Computer Science and minor in Economics. The very first time I got involved in tutoring was in middle school where I participated in a program called Homework Helpers. Since then, I have taken up multiple tutoring/teaching opportunities. For the past 3 years, I have been a teaching assistant at Manabadi, a Telugu school, where I help students learn to read, write, and speak Telugu. Recently, I taught a group of elementary and middle school students the basics of Java (a programming language). While I am open to tutoring a wide range of subjects, I am most passionate about computer science, math, and economics. I received my Bachelor of Arts in both Government and Economics with concentrations in African Studies and Development. Since graduation, I've traveled extensively and even worked abroad as an ESL teacher in Morocco. By working at a language center, I experienced and became comfortable teaching various ages and levels. Aside from teaching, I also hosted regularly attended book clubs and entrepreneurship programs for youth. Despite only having formal experience tutoring English and other related subjects, I still have a passion for Mathematics. Growing up, I hated math because I thought I could never learn the subject. It wasn't until college, where I reconsidered the possibility. Through many tutoring sessions and long nights of practice, the subject became less of a chore and more of a hobby. Looking back, I wish that I had someone to assist and push me past my limits, someone who had the patience to explain steps thoroughly and guide me through answering my questions. Although I didn't have such a person when I was younger, I would love to be that for others. It's important for me to show all my students that anything is possible with the right amount of dedication, patience, and support.

More than half of my life has been dedicated to learning and mastering the Spanish language. My love for the language and culture begun at the young age of 14 on a school mission trip to Mexico. As a young adult, I lived in Mexico for 3 years. Part of my experience in Mexico included teaching English at a local elementary school during the day and a local university in the evenings. Since returning to Virginia, I have had the continued privilege of tutoring Spanish to all ages. I have extensive experience in translating - both orally and written. My husband (native Spanish-speaker) and I are also successfully raising three bilingual children! My passion for the Spanish language helps to create a fun learning environment. I love helping others realize that anyone can learn another language with the right help and attitude! In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my crazy and busy family - playing games, watching movies, going to their soccer and basketball games, etc. When I have time to myself, I enjoy reading, writing, going to the gym and a good movie.

I can also give students advising so they can navigate their way through their schooling career. My experience in tutoring comes from my participation in my high school's Math Honor Society, where I tutored students in subjects spanning from Algebra 1 to AP Calculus BC. I was also a part of the Science Honor Society, where I mainly tutored chemistry and physics. After graduation I moved to New York City and continued my studies in Psychology, receiving a Master of Arts in Psychology from Pace University and a Master of Philosophy in Educational Psychology from The Graduate Center of the City University of New York. I have taught undergraduate and graduate level courses in both psychology and education with my primary class being Statistics for Psychology Majors, where I taught undergraduate psychology students the theory and application of introductory statistics along with the computer program SPSS. Outside of the classroom, I have worked as a statistics consultant assisting clients from a variety of fields on projects that included help with study design, data collection, data processing, analysis, interpretation, and written report of the findings. As a consultant I have additionally worked with graduate students providing assistance in dissertation analysis and tutoring for advanced level statistics courses. My own coursework has included an extensive study of different quantitative methodology, such as Structural Equation Modeling (SEM), Hierarchical Linear Modeling (HLM), General Linear Modeling (GLM), Meta-Analysis, Bayesian Statistics, and more.
