I am senior at Brigham Young University with a 4.0 GPA. I am majoring in Exercise Science and am going to go to Physical Therapy school. I am also getting a minor in Psychology. I lived in France for two years and became fluent in the French language. I continue to converse with natives in French. I was a college chemistry TA for three semesters and love teaching chemistry. I did very well on standardized tests. I love to teach and impart knowledge to others in a way that is compatible with individual learning styles.

I was born in New York, NY, and grew up in northern New Jersey attending the local public school system and the Japanese Weekend School of New Jersey. I am a student at the University of Utah majoring in Mathematics, and I am loving every minute of it. I plan to go Medical School, but I chose Math as my major because it has been a love of mine since elementary school. My favorite part of the week is when I volunteer at the Best Friends Animal Society, and during my free time, I like to read and hang out with my friends. During my time as a tutor, I have found that I love to teach and encourage students because it reminds me of the support that I have day to day as I follow my ambitions.

I am currently a doctoral candidate in clinical psychology, but I have been tutoring ever since I was in elementary school. I am from Nashville, Tennessee but have lived in seven different states all over the U.S. I currently attend Brigham Young University and am loving it. I am a Senior at Fordham University, where I am double majoring in Humanitarian Studies and Communications and Culture. My academic undergrad research is focused on fan fiction and participatory culture. I have worked in communications with INEE, immigration casework at the Office of U.S. Senator Gillibrand, refugee resettlement with Catholic Charities, procurement with URENCO USA, and as a children's librarian assistant. I have a BA in Spanish from the University of Montana and am currently applying to medical school . During my college career I had the pleasure of working as a teaching assistant for an Anatomy and Physiology lab and for a Freshman Honors Seminar. Both of these were extremely rewarding experiences, and as I got to know my students and watched them grow in confidence and competency, I discovered my love of teaching. Hi, my name's Jeff. I'm 34 years old and I live in the United States of America. I received a bachelor's of science in biochemistry from Brigham Young University. With the hard sciences, you have to take a methodical and meticulous approach to learning. I believe this applies to teaching as well. I used this methodology when I taught English for two years in the Ukraine. I worked with multiple small groups, each with their own leader who I had chosen for their skill. They would perform their exercises while I would monitor their progress. We would also have a discussion afterward about topics that concerned or interested them. When I have time to myself, I enjoy keeping both my body and mind sharp. To achieve this, I like learning other languages as well as practicing gymnastics. I am also interested in reading scientific articles because I want to keep up with current developments in my field.

I'm studying to receive my Bachelor's in Math Education at Brigham Young University, but I was previously a Physics-Astronomy major. I discovered my love for teaching and tutoring as I helped my younger siblings with math and physics while I was in high school, which I continued to do using Skype after leaving for college. In college, I learned the value of working on homework in groups, and often explained concepts to others in the group, helping them understand the material for themselves rather than just giving them the answers. My favorite part about helping others learn is seeing their confidence in their abilities grow as the connections are made and as they are able to work through problems with limited assistance from me. By the time I've finished helping someone, I want them to have grasped the material, but also to have confidence and excitement at what they've achieved. I tend to tailor my teaching style to the person I'm working with, but generally have more of a discussion with the student rather lecture at them. I am passionate about enabling students with learning differences to succeed, as I have ADHD and depression myself, and have had to figure out how to make the school system work for me, while managing my mental health. My favorite subjects to tutor are math and physics, in large part because I find them fascinating, but also because most people find them harder, so it means more when they understand it.
