While in college in Boston, I was struck by a quote on the side of the Boston Public Library: "The Commonwealth requires the education of the people as the safeguard of order and liberty." This statement gives me great inspiration as I work with my students. As a tutor, I have worked with students from ages 5 to 25. I tutor many academic subjects, but my favorites are always History, Social Science, English, and Literature. I love these subjects because I often feel they are our greatest keys to understanding why the world behaves as it does. I have taught numerous forms of standardized tests for admittance to high schools and colleges. It is not uncommon for my students to see significant increases in math, reading, and writing sections of these tests. I always find that the best tutoring results come from keeping sessions as fun and engaging as possible while still covering the material.
