I am very dedicated to helping students excel in school and in helping them develop study methods and styles that work best for them and that will serve them throughout school. I previously tutored with Boys Hope Girls Hope in Evanston, IL. I tutored middle and high school students in Spanish and English, and I was able to help them develop study strategies such as using flashcards or translating a sentence they had spoken aloud that day in their heads for extra language practice. I am very excited to be able to tutor again and to work with students. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a previously struggling student excel and to have helped them improve along the way. I am a graduate of the University of Chicago where I received my undergraduate degree in political science. Right after graduation, I worked as an academic and test prep tutor as well as admissions consultant in Hong Kong. For the past two years, I worked with a number of students to help prepare them for college in the United States.

I am eager to help students thrive because I'm still very much a student myself, and will be for the foreseeable future. Though I enjoyed my time as an undergraduate student in Literature, and learned quite a bit during my time at Vanderbilt, there's still more work to be done. I am working towards a Master's degree, and will continue on from there.

I am a high school English teacher, currently working primarily with 10th grade students. I have previously worked at middle and elementary schools as well. I graduated from the University of Chicago in 2016 with a B.A. in English and Theatre. I then got my M.S.Ed from Northwestern. I have worked with children of all ages in various capacities, including teaching, and I find that the best way for students to learn is to have fun and engage them. I am a current law student at Washington University in St. Louis and also graduated summa cum laude from their undergraduate program in 2014. I have dual citizenship with the US and Chile, and my hispanic roots have always been very important to me. I grew up speaking Spanish but have also dedicated a significant portion of my academic studies to Spanish language and literature as well. I'm Anna! I'm currently a student in the MD/MBA program between Northwestern University's Feinberg School of Medicine and the Kellogg School of Management, and graduated from Northwestern University as part of the Honors Program in Medical Education. I attended the Bergen County Academies in New Jersey, a selective, application-based magnet school, for high school.

I am a self-motivated, results-driven educator who enjoys teaching/tutoring students of all stages and from diverse backgrounds. I have a doctorate in Biological Sciences from the University of Illinois, Chicago and over 5 years' experience teaching college level biology courses in classroom (as a teaching assistant) and in private tutoring settings. In my teaching/tutoring roles, I plan and lead discussion sections in Mendelian and Molecular Genetics, Biochemistry, and Cell Biology. I create worksheets and practice questions to help student prepare for exams. I also guide students to understand and master course concepts in the above-mentioned courses as well as in research methods, and dissertation writing . I have helped improve students' grades, self-confidence and study skills, in part through motivating students and practicing constructivist teaching/learning approaches.

I am currently a fourth year medical student in Chicago. I attended the University of Notre Dame for undergrad, where I was a double major in Chinese and pre-medicine. When I am not studying, I enjoy spending time with family, volunteering, traveling, baking, and being active. I love sharing with others the knowledge and advice I have received in my education.

I am a second year law student at the University of Chicago who hails from the San Francisco Bay Area! I tutor the SAT, ESL, and Spanish. I was an AVID tutor in high school, and after college I taught an ESL class and tutored a high school student in Spanish. In law school, I am involved with the Lawyers in the Classroom program. My tutoring philosophy is based on listening to students work through problems and helping them to spot their confusions or incorrect assumptions. I believe students learn much better when they aren't simply told the right answer or right reasoning; they need to get there on their own.
