A tutoring session is unsuccessful if my student doesn't laugh at least once at a bad joke I make or a sarcastic comment. Tutoring should be fun, enriching, and empowering for everyone involved. In my spare time I watch a lot of Netflix, make music or art, and ponder life's many mysteries.

I have spent thousands of hours learning these languages, both domestically and abroad, in places such as Armenia (featured in my profile picture). I am passionate about passing on the gift of language learning to passionate learners. In addition to tutoring American students in Russian and Spanish, I have been teaching English for almost a year to Russian speaking immigrants in the United States.

The Montessori philosophy, "individual, freedom within limits," is the teaching style that I adopt. Especially when teaching world languages, it is very hard to frame all students in the same box since each student's learning style is different. Knowing and observing a student's strengths and personally designing the teaching method based on each student's or parent's expectation is my goal.
