I have been tutoring since I was 12 years old. I love the joy of helping students understand concepts, by showing them a goofy or original way to think about things. I have also been a teacher for a number of years, and I love teaching science and math. I received my degree in physics and biology from Xavier University. I have minors in chemistry and math. Additionally, I recently received my graduate degree in molecular biology. I also do well on standardized tests, recently receiving in the 90th percentile on the GRE.

Servus, Grezi, und Hallo German Language Friends! My name is Pat and whether you're just starting out with words you've learned from movies and menus or you've carried around a Langenscheidt so long that the cover has worn away, I can help you to systematically improve your German Language comprehension and performance. As a student of the language since I was a wee tween back in 2000, I have since lived, long-term, in three different major German cities on my own initiative. That means that not only do I understand how to navigate the ins-and-outs of the oft dreaded German Bureaucracy (from both a Student's and a Worker's perspective) but I can teach you to understand and adapt to regional dialects so that you have Bmmel when choosing to say Brtchen or Semmel.Whether you're looking to navigate well the precision of various scholarly works in the original, whether you're simply keen on making sure that your vacation to the Black Forest or Berlin goes off without a hitch, or whether you're just looking to score well on the German AP exam, I am your tutor. In any case,I enjoy teaching this language so much because of all the adventures it's enabled me to have.*What do you say, we get started on some of yours?*Getting a 5/5 on the AP exam also frees up 15 or more credit hours in courses that you test out of, depending on the University and their policies. That's about an entire semester of classes you can spend on graduating early (as I did) or focusing on any number of other interests.

I am a professional tutor with years of experience. I have helped students jump letter grades and improve as much as 8 composite points on the ACT and 200 points on the SAT. I have over 6 years and 1000 hours of test prep experience and over 6 years of experience tutoring math up to and including calculus, various science subjects, English, and Spanish. I like to meet all the tutoring needs of a student. This includes covering not only the academic subjects (including math, science, and language) and test prep (ACT and SAT) but also assisting with study skills and organization. I also have experience in working with students with various learning disabilities, including ADD/ADHD. I have helped students in all levels of courses, including honors and AP levels. My tutoring methods focus on customizing my lesson plan to what works best for that particular student. There are several ways to teach any one concept, and I focus on finding what will work best for that student. I truly love what I do. Being able to work with a student and see their confidence grow as they learn and build their skills is a privilege. I have a history of developing great relations with students, and, in the process, have raised both their grades and test scores significantly.I have many, many hours of test prep experience, particularly in ACT and SAT prep. Many students, prior to test prep tutoring, receive a score on these tests that is not representative of their abilities. This can be due to a variety of reasons, including test anxiety and ADD/ADHD. I focus on helping students to learn the approaches they need to raise those scores, and on building their confidence so they see that those higher scores are attainable. This not only helps raise scores, but makes them more confident as a student and thus more successful. I am intimately familiar with any and all sections of both the SAT and ACT.I have a B.S. in Biology and enjoy teaching science. This includes all levels of biology, first level chemistry, and all levels of physics. I graduated with high distinction and achieved great academic success via hard work and learning what sort of methods worked best for my learning style, and I bring this to my tutoring. I focus on not only on teaching students the material they need to know, but also on teaching them how to learn for themselves.I have been tutoring academic math subjects for quite some time now, including all math up to and including pre-calculus. My approach involves breaking down the concept first to the foundation, ensuring the student has the foundation down, and then working our way back up to include the exceptions and subtleties of that particular concept.

I have a BA in History and Political Science from Greenville College in Illinois. I am part of Phi Alpha Theta, the national history major honor society. I graduated with honors and completed an undergraduate honors thesis. I am currently working on a MA in Archaeology and Biblical History; eventually planning to pursue a PhD. I have worked in the IT industry for 5 years and currently teach Government online for Ecclesia College. I have always been passionate about teaching students. As a college academic, I see the needs that students have as they leave high school and enter the university environment, and I want to impact students before they reach that level. Hopefully through tutoring, more students will have the necessary skills they need to excel in higher education. History is my favorite subject to study and teach, however, it is such a interdisciplinary study that I find myself constantly studying literature, politics, government, essay writing, etc. I am always fascinated by the stories of civilization and its development. I am passionate about learning proper writing styles and techniques as it appears to be one of the major issues with current students. Outside of academia, I enjoy playing soccer, hiking, and staying up to date on the latest technology which I apply to tutoring and building relationships with students and help them succeed.

Beginner Spanish (Grades 2-3) Tutor • +18 Subjects
I've been a student for over two decades! I received two Bachelors of Arts, one in French Studies and one is Spanish Studies, from the University of Southern Indiana, a certification in medical interpreting in Spanish and French from the Medical Interpreting and Translating Institute Online, and am currently a fourth-year MD/MPH student at Indiana University. I've tutored students at all education levels in almost every subject -- English, math, science, French, Spanish -- and I've traveled around Latin America and Europe teaching English as a Second Language. I truly enjoy being a student (hence the fact that I've been doing it most of my life!) and I love to help others understand what they are studying so that hopefully they can enjoy learning new things as well. In my spare time, I enjoy reading, hiking with my dog, watching sports, and traveling.
