I am more passionate about the latter, and within the humanities I am most passionate about philosophy and English. The most important thing I've learned from those two fields (and the thing I'd most want to pass on to students) is how to find the right words for thoughts - this is important, not ju...

Anatomy & Physiology Tutor • +7 Subjects
Hi there, students and learners! My name is Omer. I'm a medical graduate with an M.D degree (Doctor of Medicine), pursuing a residency in Internal Medicine in the United States. Let me start off by saying some things about myself. After entering medical school, microbiology, biochemistry, pathology and pharmacology became my strong points as I tutored my peers in post lecture sessions with my university's academic assistance program. Most of my tutoring sessions were catered towards preparing students for seminars, board exams and tests as well as homework help. I have learned to rapidly pinpoint the issues learners are having, provide a succinct solution to solve the problem, and to always be prepared with multiple methods of presenting the same material (catered to different types of learners: auditory, visual etc). Over time I have also mastered the skill of making concepts and facts more easily comprehensible and guiding students to making crucial connections between concepts. If you are looking for any kind of learning or support with biochemistry, microbiology or pharmacology to help you enhance your knowledge and to ace your college tests and exams, I am the tutor for you! I have a solid understanding of these subjects and love seeing students go from C's to A's!

Lets work on our Ears and our Rhythm! Music and art have been a consistent theme in my life for almost 30 years . I have traveled the world playing gigs and also did plenty of busking (street performing) along side it. I appreciate the idea that all styles of music can be tasteful or fun. I studied Song Writing and Music Therapy at Berklee College of Music and thus have a Jazz approach when it comes to musical analysis. My principle instrument was guitar but I also practiced many others. For me, learning the rhythm and groove is tremendously important. What i've learned from teaching is that there is always a way to make learning fun and that everyone has the chance to be amazing if they put in the time.

I am an undergraduate student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and I have tutored students since my early high school years. I've had experience instructing and guiding a variety of students, from young middle schoolers taking their first steps into the world of computer programming to my own peers struggling with their calculus exams. Over the past year alone, I've worked with over 30 students, spending several hours each day to help them stay up to speed on their schoolwork. I specialize in many areas of math as well as computer science, biology and physics. When tutoring students, I draw on my own experience with learning the material to identify and address the obstacles they face. I believe that promoting a deeper level of understanding of the subject, as opposed to merely teaching to the test or problem set, will enable students to excel in the long-term.

Education is an opportunity to build connections between the knowledge you already possess and the new ideas you have yet to discover. With this in mind, my goal is to help you make those connections and keep the information more firmly planted in your mind as relevant and important.

I have a love for learning and a love for teaching. I have my Master's degree in Special Education, Learning Behavior Specialist I (LBS1) and Secondary English Language Arts certifications. My Bachelor's degree is in English from Northeastern University. I am also a Certified Behavior Instructor for students with Autism. Being in the top 15% of my Graduate school class and having graduated college with Summa Cum Laude honors, I know that hard work and dedication in education pays off. I hold myself to a very high standard in my own education, and I like to instill these same values in my students.I spend my days as a Special Education teacher for Chicago Public Schools, working with students in kindergarten through 8th grade. I have also been working as an independent tutor for the last few years. I have extensive experience working with individuals of all ages with a diverse range of needs, including those associated with Dyslexia, ADHD, Autism, learning disabilities, emotional and behavioral disorders, cognitive delays, and general literacy troubles. I excel in differentiation and the creation of successful learning plans for students. While I work in the field of Special Education, I also have experience in general education classrooms. I have tutored English and taught various classes (literature, composition, phonics) at elementary through high school levels. I have designed curricula, assessments, and activities. For over five years, I also worked for an academic essay assistance company, where I helped with academic essays ranging from middle school through post-college work.In my tutoring, I use research-based educational programs, while also integrating the latest educational technology to complement each student's learning program. I have access to applications and programs that are highly accredited and used in schools, and I believe that they not only provide additional practice, but they also increase student engagement. I create individualized and differentiated programs for students of all ages, learning styles, skill levels, and needs. I can simply help students with their homework or I can create an individualized plan to enhance other skills.I always want to make sure that students are satisfied with each lesson. I assign challenging homework but I never do so without providing the proper instruction and assistance. I will also provide you with progress reports as often as you prefer. I am flexible and I am here to help YOU!

Education:Hampshire College (Bachelors of Arts)Relay Graduate School of Education (Masters of Teaching Elementary & Exceptional Learners)Harvard Graduate School of Education (Masters of Education Education Leadership & Wellness)I began my career in education after I was accepted into Teach for America (a highly-selective education government program that recruits and trains graduates from elite universities into the teacher workforce). During my service years, I discovered teaching was my superpower and never looked back.Supporting my students at the highest level became my number one priority. When I was a math teacher in middle school/upper elementary, I sought out opportunities to hone my ability to teach literacy when I noticed many of my students struggled to decode word problems. I was trained to administer reading and writing tests to evaluate fluency and comprehension and used that information to guide instruction. I also learned how to support students with IEPs by focusing on neurodiversity in graduate school. Later in my career, I became a history teacher with a focus on developing my student's writing abilities. In the middle of my teaching career, I was recruited to teach other teachers. While I was flattered and excited to be recognized for my talents, one of my major joys in life is being able to teach my students directly. Tutoring is the way I have the best of both worlds. I can continue to write curriculum and coach new educators while still working directly with young people outside the classroom as a tutor.Personally, I've always been very bubbly and curious. I believe that young people benefit most when they are supported by adults, they trust so building trusting relationships with students is a big part of my practice. It's very important to me that young people also gain self-worth/acceptance alongside their schoolwork because a deep-rooted belief in yourself is the foundation of success.Supporting my students at the highest level became my number one priority.
