I tutored kids as a part-time job after I finished college. Then I went on to teach middle and high school classes as a Teach for America teacher for a couple of months.After completing two Master degrees in business and bioscience, I worked as a product manager in the medical device industry for the past 10+ years.My kids are now four and six, and I decided to take some time to be a stay-at-home mom to be more involved in their lives. Taking on tutoring jobs during my free time gives me the opportunity to interact and help others, which I really enjoy.

Helping students through private tutoring is something that is very important to me, because the confidence students acquire through mastering academic material is so rewarding to see. In addition to proof-reading and helping rewrite numerous papers for friends, roommates, and my younger brother, I have tutored students in Social Psychology. I am currently pursuing my undergraduate degree in Psychology at the University of Kansas. I am also a member of the University Honors Program, and I will be attending Notre Dame Law School in the fall. I am currently tutoring all sections of the ACT. These are my favorite subjects to tutor, as I am not very far removed from high school, but I have much experience helping clients reach their goals over the past three years. I understand the incredible impact a solid ACT score can have on the college process.My tutoring style is laid back and relies on much student involvement to attain the highest level of understanding for each student. Outside of school and tutoring, I love to sing, dance, rock climb, and knit, and I am an avid Boston Red Sox fan.

I first started tutoring as a sophomore in high school, helping kids younger than me get through some of their tougher classes. When I was in college I continued tutoring after approached by my Biology and Chemistry professors. The one thing I enjoy most about tutoring is helping someone to achieve that breakthrough moment. Two heads are often better than one. When you get stuck on a particular concept, it's great to have someone who can help you out of that rut!

My academic interests centered around the study of Tanach (Hebrew Bible) and the ancient world - specifically the birth of rabbinic Judaism and the Jesus movement out of first century Palestine in the Roman Empire - but my course of study was very language-heavy: by the end of my time there, I was taking Biblical Hebrew, modern Hebrew, and German simultaneously.

Hello, I'm AJ! I'm currently getting my MFA is Studio Art at UGA. I love teaching people new things and passing on my own concepts and understandings of various topics. This job benefits me as a tutor and you as a student in allowing us to both develop in our skill sets. My favorite hobbies are writing, drawing, and traveling. For me, using study aids that are outside of the box help me memorize my school work while using unique techniques, and I want that to be shown to other students as well.My teaching philosophy is to create an environment that encourages student learning and allows students to approach me for further understanding. I acknowledge and understand that every student's learning style is different. Rather than look down on a student's failure, I encourage a reflection on their failure in order to develop their skills and understanding.
