I covered comparing numbers with decimals, rounding decimal numbers to the nearest whole digit, multiplying using rectangular array method, area method, and simple algorithm, dividing using the area method, and writing decimals to thousandths. The student will do math problems faster if she is more confident and has memorized her time tables. She was attentive as always. I reviewed with her how to use the rectangular array method, area method and simple algorithm. I showed her how to approach division problems using the area method. She is more confident with math and retains the materials that we covered from past weeks.

Yesterday, the student and I had a session to review for his two-part test this week. We went over the review for the current chapter, particularly pertaining to domain, range, asymptotes, and intercepts, both calculator and non-calculator. He has a fairly good understanding once a problem is re-framed/ explained in a different way. I am confident that if he reviewed what we went over, that he will do well on the test today and tomorrow.
