Tutoring review by Madeleine in Edgewater, FL
During this session I worked with the student on solving word problems, unit conversions with unit prices, and graphing solutions to absolute value inequalities. She is so bright! She is working to show each step on paper, rather than working problems in her head, so she can prevent any mistakes.

Tutoring review by Andrew in Edgewater, FL
The student and I focused entirely on preparing for his upcoming test today, and he made a lot of progress. He was extremely focused and worked very hard throughout the session, which I appreciate. We worked on the review problems provided by his teacher, and he showed a strong grasp of all the concepts. The algebraic equations on the exam are complex, and require a long series of steps to solve and simplify--he knows all the steps. If he is careful on the test, I expect that he will do very well.

The student and I met to go over the new topics her class is covering: volume of pyramids and cones. We drew connections from the previous topics of areas and perimeters. She worked well and quickly through the problems.

The student and I did the next two topics in the workbook. We went extensively over redox reactions to make sure he really understood them. We then went over acids, bases and salts. He seemed to really grasp redox reactions, which is a difficult concept.

Tutoring review by Phil in Edgewater, FL
The student reported that he got an 87 on his last quiz, but understood his errors. We reviewed a worksheet on algebraic proofs that he had mostly completed. He had a few mistakes on it (which we cleaned up), but was solid on concepts. Then we moved forward with geometry proofs. These proved to be more difficult. We focused on reasoning behind the statements and taking the statements step-by-step. Good session.

Tutoring review by Jimmy in Edgewater, FL
We went over simplifying various radical expressions (square roots, cube roots, 4th roots, etc.). We practiced problem solving strategy by factoring inside terms and "playing a game" to simplify radicals.
