I am a medical journalist with two years of tutoring experience in the city.A native New Yorker, I graduated from Hunter College High School and went to Williams College, where I majored in biology and Spanish. Afterwards, I got a Master's in science journalism from NYU. I have published science articles in The Atlantic, Popular Science, Audubon Magazine, Vice, and more.My goal is to make learning as highly efficient and fun as possible. Good communication and variety are key to my teaching style.

I am an Education Major at Clayton State University. I am very excited about being charged with educating our children at this critical age. I am patient and committed to assessing where my students are in need and meeting that need as best as I can. Learning is a team effort, and I thrive on feedback and participation from my students. I hope to bring my knowledge of science to students who need my help, and will try different methods in teaching and sharing, in order to improve outcomes with my students. I'm currently an undergraduate student at Georgia Institute of Technology pursuing a degree in Electrical Engineering. I mostly tutor subjects that reside in the STEM field as those subjects are my strong points. I have been a tutor in the past back in high school. During that time, I realized that helping students understand difficult material can be very awarding. In my free time, when I'm not studying for school or practicing sports, I like to play video games and hangout with friends. Every once in a while I'll pick up my violin and play songs that I've learned in the past; I find it very relaxing.

I enjoy teaching and tutoring students to ensure that each student will achieve academic success. I believe that all students should have high expectations for themselves and by doing so, the learning experience will continue throughout their adult life.

I attended Vanderbilt University Nashville, TN where I majored in Molecular and Cellular Biology. Since graduating in May 2014, I applied to medical school and will be attending New York Medical College in August. When I’m not studying, I enjoy staying active by running, biking, hiking, and doing yoga. I also enjoy looking at and creating art. I’m not fantastic at realism and subsequently stick to collages and abstract work. Of all the subjects I tutor, my favorite is biology. During school, I loved seeing how microscopic biology could be applied to subjects like anatomy and nutrition. I look forward to expanding my understanding of this concept in medical school.

I have always been fascinated with superheroes. As a child, I would sit in awe as I turned the pages of my favorite comic books. My favorite quality in a superhero was not their strength, but their ability to expand the peripheries of knowledge. Contributing to the expansion of knowledge and education went from childhood fantasy to reality and I hope that each one of my students becomes empowered by the knowledge they accumulate while working with me.If it is not fairly obvious, I am very nerdy and it would be a lie to say that it does not influence my teaching skills. I use different pop cultural references to explain a concept more thoroughly or rally motivation when needed. Though I am a nerd, teaching and student retention is always my first priority. I have been teaching higher education public speaking courses for the past three years and have seen and practiced the various ways in which students learn and engage in the course material. In my classes, I try to engage somewhat in a Socratic method of teaching where I prompt my students, offer them a framework for their conclusion, and then have them strategize ways in which the goal can be made. I do not expect my students to have "perfect" work or a "perfect" session because I know that the term "perfect" is subjective. Rather, I expect my students to come to each meeting with a goal (learn this topic, finish and get a certain grade on a speech, etc.) and success depends on meeting said goal. I much rather have my students feel successful in obtaining their goal than self-conscious for work that others might not interpret as perfect.My research interests include the study of rhetorical messages, pop culture, gender, and social movements. My areas of expertise for teaching include public speaking, essay writing and composition, history, sociology, philosophy, English, and literature.

Friendly, dependable, and enthusiastic upcoming medical student at UW-Madison starting Fall 2020. I started tutoring during undergrad for general chemistry, general biology, organic chemistry, biochemistry, and genetics. I find a great amount of joy helping others understand and eventually master the material. Naturally, I wanted to continue tutoring after I graduated and before medical school starts.Outside of tutoring I enjoy cooking, spending time with my dog and girlfriend in the outdoors, and competing in triathlons and other endurance events.
