I am a graduate of UCLA's English Department and of Oxford University's faculty of Medieval and Modern Languages and Literature. My thesis work was on the collected works of American author and Pulitzer Prize winner, Willa Cather and French journalist, author and filmmaker, Marguerite Duras.

I'm a graduate student at MIT. I started tutoring from my first year of undergrad because I had such wonderful experiences when I was in high school learning with friends and upperclassmen. I am personally a social learner- I learn best when I'm talking and wrestling with concepts out loud and in a group. When I can express myself coherently, I know I have mastered the material. I have founded my own business as a Productivity Coach, specializing in executive functioning and motivation. I also enjoy helping students learn with tutoring! My background means I am well suited to clients with test anxiety, and other psychological factors that interfere with academic potential. I am a senior at MIT majoring in Writing with a specialization in Digital Media. I have also completed a minor in Business Management. As one of ten writing majors at a school full of people pursuing science and technology rather than humanities subjects, I have taken a default position as tutor for anyone struggling with any writing assignments. I have helped fellow college students on a wide variety assignments ranging from analytic papers on race in the media, to papers on scientific theories, to scholarship essays. In high school I was a Link Crew tutor for three years, making myself available for tutoring sessions after school for whatever subject students required help in. I am currently pursuing my M.D. in Boston, MA. During my time in graduate school, I tutored middle school and high school students in science and math. I love tutoring science, especially health sciences as I am in school to become a physician. I also enjoy teaching math and I find it to be one of the most rewarding subjects to watch a student grow to understand. Throughout my academic career, I have taken the SAT, GRE, and MCAT so I am especially passionate about test preparation.

During my undergraduate studies I spent my time in political organizations and in research, teaching fellowships on political philosophy at Harvard Effective Altruism and serving as a Visiting Researcher in food policy at the University of Cambridge. After graduating, I spent time as a researcher in political science and history and mentored students working towards attending top schools in the US and UK, providing one-on-one help with applications and developing seminars on topics like Sociology and English. Most recently, I have started a non-profit organization in Ecuador focused on educating families about healthy cooking and providing nutritional assistance. At the same time, I am excited to continue pursuing my passion for teaching and helping students navigate subjects like History, English Literature, ESL, Spanish, and Standardized Tests like the ACT, AP, and IB tests. I believe that the knowledge young people receive in primary and secondary education is the ultimate individual enrichment; an essential part of understanding who they are and a key to seeing who they may become. In my spare time, I walk, read history books like Doris Kearns Goodwin's Team of Rivals, and listen to music like Led Zeppelin and Lana del Rey.

I am a graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a Bachelors of Arts in English and Philosophy. At Notre Dame, I worked as a tutor at the University Writing Center, helping both undergraduate and graduate students with their writing. I also tutored local middle school students in reading and writing to prepare them for standardized tests. I had the opportunity to live in Spain for 6 months, where I became fluent in Spanish and developed a love for tutoring English language learners. Since graduation, I have worked with students at Midtown Educational Foundation and other extracurricular programs, and am currently pursuing a Masters of Arts in Teaching English. I tutor a wide range of subjects, although I am most passionate about English, Spanish, and Writing. I am an advocate of student-centered tutoring, and my goal is to support and guide students so that they have the satisfaction and confidence of knowing how to think through a problem and reach the correct answer. In my free time, I love to bake, read, play soccer, and act in plays.

I am a pre-medical student who has been accepted to medical school, and I am a Slavic Languages and Literatures Major. I have tutored private clients in elementary, middle, and high school math for years; worked with disabled students on improving communication and academic skills through the "Best Buddies" program; and taught English language to Russian speakers during a U.S. State Department study abroad scholarship in Moldova. Though I tutor a wide range of subjects, I am most passionate about English, Math, and Public Speaking. In my experience, preparing students for Standardized Testing is immensely satisfying (especially in the Writing and Reading sections) as so much of a student's success is based on their mastery of testing techniques and strategies. I also firmly believe that Public Speaking, as well as organizational skills, are critical to a student's level of confidence and advancement in any subject. I understand that each individual student has a unique approach to learning, and I try to pinpoint the most effective study and comprehension strategies for each of my students, so that he or she feels that his or her time is being used effectively, and so he or she can utilize new tools for success in future classes. In my spare time, I enjoy theater (whether that be participating as a performer or singing along to songs in the car), soccer, dance, and reading.
