I'm currently in graduate school pursuing a Masters in social work from The Ohio State University and have a BA in community education from the University of West Florida. I'm passionate about education and providing equal access to education. I believe in strengths based approaches, and love to make learning fun and engaging by utilizing a student's passions and skills.

I am a tutor, but I am also a mentor. While I believe education is of utmost importance, I also believe a student needs to find value in their education. I don't tutor to help students get the assignment done, I tutor to help develop respect for learning.

I am comfortable teaching almost any topic in math. I am also comfortable teaching any age group. I like to use various examples, hands-on activities, and as many visuals as possible, rather than just reading off formulas or having students memorize definitions. I'm an undergraduate at UH-Clear Lake working on a B.S. in Mathematical Sciences. I've tutored for about two years now, including a year working at San Jacinto College's Math Center. It was a great experience because it was very busy and I got the chance to help dozens of students every day. However, I enjoy one-on-one tutoring the most because there is less pressure to help as many people as possible. Instead, I can focus on a single student for the entire session.
